Important Rules and Guidelines for the Tournament
- Entrance: All players must register through the application process found [Link Here]. Re-entry or purchasing additional chips is not allowed. By registering through SBC, you agree to share your name and email with the Casino for seat assignment.
- Entry Requirements: All entrants must provide their Passport number OR an ID card number (Government valid ID) and present it at the casino to be assigned a seat. This is a casino regulatory requirement.
- Seat Assignment: To start the tournament, you will be randomly assigned a table and seat. That seat will be yours for the duration of the tournament. Your seat will only change if the tournament director directs you.
- Tournament Chips: Your starting stack of chips is 10,000. These chips have no cash value and cannot be cashed out at any point.
- Blind Levels: Blinds will increase every 20 minutes.
- The Deal: The deal follows standard Texas Hold’em poker rules. On each hand, the Blinds (Small Blind and Big Blind) are posted by the two players to the left of the Button. The Small Blind is to the immediate left of The Button. The Big Blind is to the immediate left of the Small Blind. The Button rotates clockwise after each hand,
- Big Blind Ante: The player in the big blind position posts an additional ante equal to the amount of the big blind during each hand.
- Absent Players: Players must be dealt into each hand and post blinds/antes whether they are at the table or not. A hand is ruled dead if a player is absent when their second card is dealt.
- Breaking Tables: As players are eliminated, tables will be broken down in a pre-determined order. If your table is broken down, you will be reassigned to an empty seat at one of the remaining tables.
- All-in Bets: A player who goes all-in risks all of the chips they have. If an opponent has more chips, they can only win an amount equal to the all-in player’s stack. You can never lose more than all of your chips. You can never win from one opponent more than all of your chips.
- All-in Confrontations: When at least one player is all in, and there are no more actions that can be taken by any player still in the hand, all hands must be revealed face-up before the remaining community cards are dealt.
- Calling the Clock: A player can request a pit boss to force another player to act within a set time limit (typically 60 seconds). Failure to act results in the hand being folded.
- Multiple Busts: If two players are eliminated on the same hand, the player with more chips at the start of the hand ranks higher.
- Showing Cards: Intentionally exposing a card during play is prohibited and may result in a dead hand or a time penalty.
- Inappropriate Play: Behaviors like swearing or throwing cards are punishable by penalties determined by the Tournament Director.
- Colouring Up: Lower denomination chips are removed from play when they are no longer needed in the blind or ante structure. Chips removed will be replaced by an equal value of larger denomination chips.
- Hand-for-Hand Play: As the play approaches the bubble (the point where players start receiving payouts), the tournament may go to hand-for-hand play. This means all tables will complete their hands before the next hand is dealt.
- Heads Up: When only two players remain, this is known as heads-up play. The small blind is the button and acts first before the flop and last on all other streets.
- Deal-Making: Players may negotiate a deal to distribute the remaining prize money at any time, as long as all remaining players agree. Payouts are usually adjusted according to each player’s chip count (ICM).
- Tournament Director: The Tournament Director has the final say in all matters.
