Unrivalled line-up of betting expertise at Betting on Sports America

A fast start to the first morning of Betting on Sports America (23-25 April) will see New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy make a keynote address to the industry, before former US sports stars Ryan Howard and Brian Westbrook explain the increased crossover between sports, sports betting and venture capital.

These two sessions were just a small part of the full agenda released by SBC Events earlier today, which includes more than 175 speakers spread across the following six main conference tracks – Betting on Regulation, Trading & Operations, Marketing, Sports & Betting, States of the Nation and Demystifying Sports Betting.

The event is expected to attract over 1,500 senior executives from the worlds of sports betting, sports, media, casinos, tribes, regulators and lotteries. The conference will take place at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey, while there will be networking parties in New York at both 40/40 Club and Sky Room.

SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark stated: “Given that New Jersey spearheaded the challenge against PASPA in the courts – The Meadowlands Exposition Centre is arguably the perfect venue for SBC’s inaugural Betting on Sports America event.

“We are extremely excited to bring such a crucial industry event to this area, which has already been so pivotal in the development of sports betting in the US.It promises to bring some of the industry’s most prominent figures together to chat about the most crucial challenges.”

On the first day, Betting on Regulation will look at lessons learned from other regulated markets and how Nevada is living proof that an individual state can successfully police sports betting.

Trading & Operations will consider the operational difference between official and unofficial data, the most crucial components to the supply chain and why with increased opportunities to bet comes a bigger responsibility to keep bettors safe.

Meanwhile, the Marketing track will assess what’s next for DFS now that sports betting has stolen its thunder, as well as debate the role of affiliates in the new market.

States of the Nation will put the spotlight on New Jersey and discuss key takeaways for the next wave of legal sports betting adopters, including New York.

Finally, Demystifying Sports Betting will look at AI as the ‘secret weapon’ to improving customer experience, the future of retail betting across the country, where investors see value and why virtual sports are not just an introduction to the world of betting. The army of second day speakers features Scott Butera (President of Interactive Gaming at MGM Resorts), Jay Kornegay (EVP Race & Sports Book Operations at SuperBook – Westgate Las Vegas), Kresimir Spajic (SVP Online Gaming at Hard Rock International), Avi Alroy (VP Interactive Gaming at Mohegan Sun), John Levy (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at theScore), Keith Wachtel (Chief Revenue Officer and EVP at the NHL), Andy Levinson (SVP, Tournament Administration for the PGA Tour) and Art Manteris (VP Race and Sports Book Operations at Station Casinos), Andrew Winchell (Director of Government Affairs, FanDuel), Vic Salerno (President, of USBookmaking & USFantasy Sports), Former New Jersey Senator Raymond Lesniak, Vincent Magliulo (Vice President of Corporate Relations, LVDC)  and Laila Mintas (Chairwoman of the Advisory Board at Bet.Works).
