SIS – Providing around the clock live betting opportunities

SIS is sponsoring Betting on Sports 2018, the 3rd edition of the largest international sports and betting trade conference at Olympia London.

Ahead of the 18-21 September event, we asked Head of International Racing Simon Fraser to disclose some of the firm’s plans for #boscon2018 and to pick out the sporting event he would most like to attend.

SBC: What are you looking forward to at Betting on Sports?

SF: This is the first Betting on Sports in my new role at SIS, so I’m looking forward to catching up with friends as well as making some new acquaintances and seeing how we can help them with the services we provide.

There’s always a good mix of speaker sessions tackling the latest industry issues, promotional stands to keep an eye on the latest product developments and of course a few bars to have a drink or two with other delegates.

SBC: What are you promoting at Betting on Sports?

SF: At stand J7, we’ll be showcasing our new 24/7 Live Betting Channels which provide operators with around the clock live betting opportunities.

Delegates will be able to view our 24/7 ‘Watch & Bet’ channels which provide operators with desirable and profitable short-form content throughout the day with a betting event every 3 minutes. SIS can deliver operators an end-to-end solution which includes live streamed pictures, data, prices and derivatives.

The channels include premium exclusive live UK & Irish horse racing, with international horse racing from Dubai, Latin America, Mauritius, and Korea, as well as UK & Irish greyhound racing, which will provide bettors with frequent betting opportunities every three minutes throughout the day.

It is also possible to customise the channels, as they can be branded to accommodate individual partner logos, time zones and languages for on-screen graphics.

SBC: Which sports betting company has impressed you the most in 2018?

SF: Both William Hill and Paddy Power have impressed me with their innovative approach, as well as exploration of new opportunities in emerging markets. Both have made some impressive early in-roads in the States. It’s probably too early to say how successful these will be in the long-term, but with their retail divisions under fire post-FOBT legislation it shows an impressive willingness to explore new opportunities.

SBC: What sports betting partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?

SF: The developments in the US following the repeal of PASPA has sprung up some interesting partnerships, as the industry looks to capitalise on this newly legalised sports betting market. For instance, the joint venture between MGM Resorts and GVC certainly caught the eye, as two major names in the US and Europe come together to tackle this emerging space.

It will be fascinating to see how the market develops in the next year and whether it will live up to expectations in terms of the sheer size many predict it will become.

SBC: If you could attend one sporting event, what would it be?

SF: It would have to be the Melbourne Cup, one of the most prestigious races in the sports calendar. Not only is it a great day’s racing, it’s also a proper sporting experience. We could learn a thing or two in this country about how the Australians put the event on and promote it.
