JUNE 19: The Relevance of TQM: An exploration of Total Quality Management (TQM) through engaging stories and insightful explanations. Lucien will share his firsthand experiences from the heart of land-based casinos, both as a player and as a seasoned consultant. He’ll peel back the layers of WHAT casinos do and HOW they do it, and most importantly, WHY. What promises are made, and what goals are pursued? Can operators truly demonstrate that they’re delivering on their intended promises?

JUNE 20: The Relevance of RTP: An exploration of Return to Player (RTP) dynamics, this masterclass navigates RTP’s pivotal role in the industry and investigates its impact on diverse player categories. Lucien will confront the age-old question: can RTP be too high or too low, drawing from industry trends and empirical evidence and questioning the premise of isolating RTP evaluation from other critical game parameters such as duration, cost to cover, and volatility?

Registration for the Masterclass is open to all attendees; delegates will have the remainder of the afternoon to access other content and visit the exhibition floor. Each attendee who completes the masterclass will receive certification from the EGA.

This Masterclass tailors to all layers of Management in the Electronic Games Department (both Operational Management and Product Management), as well as Marketing Managers, Casino Managers, but all attendees are welcome to participate.

JUNE 19 (3-4PM): This panel focuses upon two main areas. The first addresses the impact of two cases before the Ontario courts in 2024: (i) the Superior Court decision in Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke v. iGaming Ontario and the Attorney General of Ontario, which confirmed that the role of AGCO-registered Operators complies with the Criminal Code; and (ii) the “Liquidity” reference case, in which Ontario has asked the Court of Appeal if AGCO-registered iGaming operators can allow Ontario-based players to participate in iGaming involving people outside Canada. The second area examines the tools and framework available to the provinces to enable them to enforce the existing law against unregulated operators, which offer i-Gaming not only to Ontario but to the rest of Canada.

JUNE 20 (11AM-12PM): The focus of this panel will be on decisions, matters and issues that have come to the fore over the past 12 months which are expected to impact the structure of the Canadian gaming marketplace and how businesses can legally operate within it. Topics include the operator coalition seeking legal change in the Province of Quebec, the emphasis on responsible gambling issues and the legal steps being taken to address it, how to interpret Canadian sweepstakes laws, key Canadian cases impacting First Nations gaming, legal attempts at addressing sports integrity issues, a potential new regulated gaming framework for Alberta, and Canadian marketing and advertising laws in the context of gaming.
