IDnow: Video verification will capture the industry’s attention in 2020

There’s only 5 days to go until the SBC Digital Summit, and we’ve been continuing to chat with our event sponsors about what they are most looking forward to at the Digital Summit.

Roger Tyrzyk, IDnow’s Country Manager for UK&I, Malta and Cyprus, told SBC that he is particularly excited about hearing what businesses are currently doing to survive the difficult situation we find ourselves in at the moment.

What are you looking forward to at the SBC Digital Summit?

I’m very much looking forward to listening to our industry leaders discuss the way forward from now – specifically to hear what businesses are currently doing to survive the difficult situation we find ourselves in at the moment.

What would be your biggest bit of advice for betting and gaming businesses trying to mitigate the impact of COVID-19?

Make sure your Responsible Gambling detection is the best it can be, as we are now facing more scrutiny than ever before, looking at the reports that are currently in the news. And to stay resilient – we’re all in this together.

What are you promoting at SBC Digital Summit?

We are promoting our identity verification services – how we onboard players in a quick, safe and compliant manner. Also how we can help operators to onboard high-risk players and potentially help them with interviews in regards to Responsible Gambling.

What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2020?

Video verification – it’s the most secure way to onboard customers. i.e. to prevent social engineering, false acceptance rates are close to 0% meaning vulnerable customers can be cared for properly.

Which operator has impressed you the most in 2020?

So far I would have to say William Hill, GVC and Tipico – the way they have dealt with the current pressures and continue to safeguard their customers is a great example to others.

What sports betting partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?

IDnow and Tipico – onboarding players via video verification to ensure optimum safety and compliance.

Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?

The leaders track obviously stands out as I have never seen so many C-level execs to be participating in one conference. I also must add that the Payments track looks fantastic with some great insights for operators!
