There’s only a couple of days to go until CasinoBeats Malta Digital, and we’re continuing to chat with our event sponsors about what they’re expecting from the event.
Warren Russell, Founder and CEO of W2, advised companies to ‘roll with the punches and have fluid plans’ when it comes to adapting to this new normal that we find ourselves in. Explaining that he’s looking forward to the esports panels, Warren Russell told SBC that ‘we could see far more widespread adoption of this format to protect against future such lockdowns’.
What are you looking forward to at CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020?
SBC events always pull together high quality attendees and fantastic speaker panels. Not only am I looking forward to ensuring I keep up to date with industry developments but also connecting with people that I haven’t seen for a long time.
What would be your biggest bit of advice for betting and gaming businesses trying to mitigate the impact of COVID-19?
I think this applies to all businesses – roll with the punches and have fluid plans. What you think today will likely change tomorrow so remain agile and adaptable to give yourself maximum chance of success.
What are you promoting at CasinoBeats Malta Digital?
Our platform which enables seamless Age Verification, KYC and AML checks for real time digital transactions. We sell simplicity and everyone wants an easy life when it comes to compliance and it is often far more complicated than it needs to be.
What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2020?
I think any innovation on RG will have a significant impact during 2020 and beyond.
Which operator has impressed you the most in 2020?
I think the way the likes of Hills, Ladbrokes, Betfred etc who not only lost their industry with the global stop on sports also had the added complication of land based and digital operations to handle have impressed me.
What partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?
The formation of the Betting and Gaming council. For years the industry has been disparate in its approach to dealing with the issues that come with Gambling. Too many vested interests, too slow to react and too reticent to deal with the issues head on.
Whatever your view of the sector the industry needed a unified voice and the BGC seem to have brought that. The industry is on the front foot pushing for change as well as highlighting the positive things that they do. It will never please everyone but it feels like the industry is finally acting in partnership to tackle the key issues
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
Anything with me in it 😉 I think the esports sessions will be interesting as given the current climate we could see far more widespread adoption of this format to protect against future such lockdowns.
