SBC Summit will host four networking events for women in gaming

During the SBC Summit in Lisbon Sept. 16-18, SBC will hold the second edition of a programme promoting the Women Empowerment (WE) Initiative.

Across the first two days of the event, SBC will host four dedicated networking events for women in the global gaming and betting industry.

One of the highlights will be An Evening of Empowerment & Community at the River Lounge at Myriad by SANA on the evening of Sept. 16. For two hours, participants will be able to interact with international associations, learn about impactful initiatives and strengthen connections with other women in the industry.

You can register your interest in the meeting here.

Networking for women at SBC Summit

In addition to the official WE Initiative program, the Summit will host three other meetings dedicated to women in gaming:

  • Women in Gaming (WiG) Africa – Friends & Allies Networking Drinks: Sept. 16 at Food Festival 6. WiG Africa invites women and allies to participate in a collective toast to bring together professionals interested in strengthening ties between Africa and the international industry.
  • Association of Women in the Gaming Industry (AMIG) Happy Hour: Sept. 17 at the BetBoom booth (C150). This event will be a relaxed gathering, with an open bar, live music and a welcoming atmosphere. Created by Brazilian women, AMIG has a mission to support and promote female participation in the sector, celebrating achievements and encouraging new leadership.
  • Global Gaming Women (GGW) Breakfast Meet-Up: Sept. 17 between Halls 1 and 2. The traditional GGW breakfast, sponsored this year by GGW and Segev LLP, offers an informal space for women to talk about their careers, share lessons learned, and learn about mentoring initiatives.

SBC encourages all women in the industry, as well as allies engaged in promoting diversity, to get involved with the WE Initiative. Interested parties can email [email protected] and contribute ideas that help increase female representation in the global gaming and betting market.

About the WE Initiative

Launched in 2024, the WE Initiative was created with the purpose of connecting, educating and giving voices to women in the sports betting, gaming and related industries and fostering a global community of strong and inspiring leaders.

The movement already has the support of internationally recognized groups such as the All-In Diversity Project, AMIG, GGW, SheEOsWomen in Gaming Group and Women in Gaming Africa. They all share the goal of increasing women’s participation and leadership in a segment historically marked by gender inequalities.

SBC has been providing awareness and integration initiatives for years, such as exclusive breakfasts for women at all its events, themed conferences, mentoring and content focused on equality. The WE Initiative is the consolidation of this effort on a global scale, offering a formal space for visibility and exchange of experiences.
