THE BACKSTORY
As many of you already know, SBC is moving its flagship event to the city of Lisbon.
While the reasons for this move have been discussed extensively (you can read more about it in our blog post), today, we want to focus on an exciting new addition to the SBC Summit that will significantly benefit a key segment of our audience: affiliates.
For those not deeply familiar with all our projects at SBC, a few years ago, we launched an initiative called Affiliate Leaders.
The goal was simple yet impactful: create a space where affiliates could come together to discuss their challenges, share insights on navigating regulatory landscapes, explore promising markets, and stay ahead of industry trends.
Over the past year, we’ve noticed a remarkable increase in affiliate participation, both at our events and within the Affiliate Leaders community.
SBC events have become a preferred destination for affiliates, offering a perfect blend of networking opportunities—with peers and operator affiliate managers alike—and valuable educational sessions.
This surge in interest has motivated us to enhance our efforts to make affiliates feel more appreciated and better catered to.
We’ve launched a revamped website, designed to be more user-friendly and informative.
We’re also working diligently to secure speaking slots for Affiliate Leaders at our events, providing them with a platform to enhance their brand visibility.
Additionally, we’re organising exclusive VIP dinners and rolling out a new series of Affiliate Leaders interviews to bolster your thought leadership efforts.
WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS HAVE TO DO WITH SBC SUMMIT?
Given our focus on bringing the affiliate community together, we’re thrilled to announce a dedicated side event at the upcoming edition in Lisbon — the Affiliate Leaders Summit, borrowing its name from our Affiliate Leaders brand.
Some basic details about SBC Summit/Affiliate Leaders Summit:
- When – SBC Summit: September 23-26, 2024 (Monday the 23rd is entirely optional, with only side activities planned for the day, as you can see in the ‘Schedule’ section below). Here’s a handy booklet that you can access for a comprehensive overview of everything that’s taking place at SBC Summit.
- When – Affiliate Leaders Summit: September 25-26, 2024 (However, there will also be a dedicated Affiliate Leaders party on the 24th if you’d like to join; details are provided below).
- Location: Feira Internacional de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal & MEO Arena (that will host the Super Stage, the SBC Awards Ceremony and the Closing Party).
- Attendee Count: 25,000 for SBC Summit, 5,000 for Affiliate Leaders Summit
- Exhibitors: 600 in total, 150 for Affiliate Leaders Summit.
- Speakers: Over 450.
Here’s what you can look forward to at the Affiliate Leaders Summit:
- Dedicated Summit: Last year, we had the ‘Affiliates, Media and Marketing Zone.’ This year, we’re stepping up with a full-fledged Affiliate Leaders Summit. You’ll have your own expo space (14,000 square meters), a conference stage, and networking areas to facilitate meaningful interactions.
- Exclusive Access: As an affiliate, you’ll receive an ‘Affiliate Leaders’ badge. This badge not only makes it easier for event attendees to identify you but also grants you access to the dedicated area. We’re expecting 5,000 attendees at the Summit, including affiliates, operator affiliate managers, marketing experts, SEO agencies, and other related sectors.

- Free Tickets: Affiliates qualify for free entry to the event (subject to verification). To claim your free ticket for yourself and your team, you can submit this form or reach out to Julian or Brendon directly.
- Efficient Badge Pickup: To avoid long queues, you’ll be able to pick up your badge separately. With 25,000 attendees expected, we want to make this process as smooth as possible. Pre-registration is available at Humberto Delgado Airport from 6:30 to 23:00 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so you can collect your badge as soon as you land in Lisbon. If you prefer, you can also pick up your badge during pre-registration at Feira Internacional de Lisboa on Monday, 23 September, between 11:00 and 16:00. Our team will be working on creating a dedicated registration guide before the event that will be emailed to all attendees, so keep an eye on your email inbox for this. You can also pick up your badge during the core conference days at the Affiliate Leaders Summit entrance (and the other registration areas available for attendees).
- Full Access: The Affiliate Leaders badge also grants you access to the entire SBC Summit, including all zones (Sports Betting, Casino & iGaming, Player Protection) and summits (Payment Expert & ESI Lisbon). This means you can network with anyone and attend various market-focused meet-ups. Be sure to check the full event schedule to avoid missing out on any opportunities. Also, badges will be colour-coded, so you’ll be able to easily identify operators among the 25,000 attendees!
- Comprehensive Conference Content: In addition to the dedicated Affiliate Leaders stage, you’ll have access to all conference content, including keynotes and high-profile panels at the Super Stage at MEO Arena, and stages dedicated to Sports Betting, Casino & iGaming, Payments, Player Protection, and more. If you have overlapping sessions, don’t worry—all content will be available on-demand after the event via SBC Connect – you’ll receive an email post-event when the content becomes available.

- Keep in mind that it takes about 10 minutes to travel from the Affiliate Leaders Summit to MEO Arena, where the Super Stage is located, so plan accordingly if you want to catch a session there.

- To ensure access to the evening networking parties, please arrive on time. With 25,000 attendees, we don’t want you to be disappointed.
- We recommend picking up your badge at the airport as soon as you arrive. Badge holders can skip the queue at the event and use the dedicated fast-track lane.
- Plan ahead by reviewing the schedule and adding the events you’re interested in to your calendar (there’s a handy button next to each event for this). This will serve as a perfect reminder for upcoming events, sessions, or parties—especially useful with so much happening.
- Spend some time checking out the floor plan before the event. Yes, there will be signage available everywhere (colour-coded zones, stickers, LED screens, digital floor plans, foldable paper maps etc) as well as dedicated staff to guide you if you’re lost. However, familiarising yourself with the area will prove invaluable in such a big venue (100,000 square meters in total).
- Make sure to examine the website before you land in Lisbon. We worked hard on putting all this information together and you should be able to get answers to most of your questions by browsing it. FOOD FESTIVAL – AKA YOUR CATERING OPTIONS
When picking up your badge, if you’re a full-access pass holder, our team will provide you with “pre-loaded wristbands.” These wristbands will be loaded with an amount that you can spend on the catering options available at the event. This amount is allocated for one person only, so we recommend using it for yourself to avoid running out of funds on the first day.
Regarding catering options, we’ve ensured a wide variety for two main reasons: first, to manage foot traffic and avoid long queues. We don’t want our attendees to spend too much time on basic needs instead of networking, so the diverse selection of food trucks helps mitigate this issue. Second, we understand that people have different preferences and dietary requirements, so offering a range of options helps us accommodate everyone.

While the Affiliate Leaders Summit officially kicks off on Wednesday, there’s no shortage of exciting events to keep you engaged on Tuesday, 24 September 2024.
The SBC Leaders Summit is the gaming industry’s most exclusive conference, held at the luxurious Myriad by Sana, a 5-star hotel. Running from 10:00 to 01:00, this invite-only event will gather over 500 C-Level executives. Attendees will enjoy networking and world-class conference content. Running from 10:00 to 18:00, the main SBC Summit event will feature an extensive schedule of sessions and exhibits. Be sure to check the schedule so you don’t miss out on anything.
Join us at the Ferroviário Rooftop Bar from 19:00 to 01:00. This is a great opportunity to network with leading affiliates and operators before the Affiliate Leaders Summit begins.
