As the world tentatively emerges from lockdowns, many companies are having to adjust to a ‘new normal’, which for AstroPay meant speeding up their projections for a ‘cashless shift’.
Speaking to SBC ahead of SBC Summit Barcelona – Digital next week, Mikael Lijtenstein – CEO of AstroPay – addressed his advice for overcoming the impacts of COVID-19, and explained that he is most looking forward to the panel sessions and networking opportunities.
What are you looking forward to at the SBC Summit Barcelona – Digital?
This summit is announced as the major digital event of the year and therefore we consider it the right place to be. The themes that are going to be discussed as well as the level of the speakers makes it a must for 2020. Also, we value the opportunity for networking and contacting key figures of the industry.
What would be your biggest bit of advice for betting and gaming businesses trying to mitigate the impact of COVID-19?
My bit of advice is to keep moving. This is a time to make things happen. Take it as an opportunity to improve business, to make those decisions that have been postponed, to find new markets and to diversify the offer.
People have been affected by the pandemic and so have businesses. Therefore, it is important to accompany the changes. Regarding payments, for instance, there has been an acceleration towards cashless. This shift was occurring, but the pandemic has promoted it. Hence, we had to speed up our projections and adjust to the new reality.
What are you promoting at SBC Summit Barcelona – Digital?
We are promoting our main product, AstroPay Card which enables merchants to receive deposits and process withdrawals from one single integration. This virtual voucher was developed to facilitate the work of the operators and avoid the inconveniences of handling various integrations.
All this carried out from strict compliance procedures and high security standards that guarantees the prevention of fraud. Focusing on international transactions, we address the complexities of local markets, offering fast and efficient solutions across thousands of consumer-recognized payment methods.
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
The diversity of topics that will be handled during the summit really caught my attention. I believe most aspects of the gaming and betting industry have been considered and will be thoroughly discussed.
