Betting GodsBetting Gods is sponsoring Betting on Sports 2017, the second edition of the largest international sports and betting trade conference at Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington.

Ahead of the 12-15 September event, we spoke to the company’s Founder and Director Darren Moore about what he is looking forward to at #boscon2017, his perfect sporting event, and how sports and betting can work better together.

SBC: What are you looking forward to at Betting on Sports?

DM: Of course, I must mention the opportunity to catch up with friends, but SBC has a great reputation for providing some valuable speakers and content. Looking at the agenda, Betting on Sports 2017 will be no different.

I’m particularly keen to learn more about Esports and how we as a company can becoming increasingly involved in this rapidly expanding niche for the benefit of our members. I’m also fascinated and intrigued to attend the talk about international racing within the UK, as racing is where it all started several years ago for Betting Gods.

SBC: What are you promoting at Betting on Sports?

DM: We’ll be looking to show ourselves off for brand awareness, highlighting that betting isn’t all about casinos, slots and virtual sports.

Despite often being a taboo subject, sports betting can and is undertaken by many to provide a legitimate source of income (and I don’t just mean the affiliates or operators!)

Betting Gods has operated subscription based professional tipster services now for almost four years; that’s four years of proven results that show it really is possible to earn a living by betting on sports, but also that affiliates can earn a substantial income by promoting this opportunity too.

SBC: Where can betting work together more closely with sport?

DM: This is something we feel strongly about and recently wrote about on the Betting Gods blog (see https://www.bettinggods.com/why-sports-betting-companies-should-pay-back/).

We feel that betting companies have a duty to support their local communities, both within the sports covered and in the interests of being a good neighbour.

We should encourage safe and responsible gambling from both sides of events (football teams, bookies and content providers such as ourselves), but likewise sports should have a duty to promote and maintain integrity from players to ensure that punters have a fair chance when betting.

SBC: What sports betting partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?

DM: To be totally honest, I’ve been so engaged with growing the company and managing our relocation that it’s been difficult to keep track of the various partnerships.

Naturally I must say the Betting Gods / Matching Visions partnership is a biggie for us as we’re now working close on several brands plus sharing the same office premises.

Unsurprisingly we’ve seen more acquisitions for Catena, and I’m pleased to see my friend Alex at AXL Affiliates doing well having acquired TipsBetting from the UK and Oddstake just a few months back.

SBC: Describe your perfect sporting eventย ย 

DM: Despite what I do at Betting Gods, on a personal level I’m more of an air sports and water sports fan. My ideal sporting day out is cheering on Team GB at the Red Bull Air Races or the Rolex Middle Sea yacht race in a couple of months close to our base in Malta.

As sponsors of several horse races in UK, I do of course have a vested interest in those events and it’s incredibly satisfying to be involved in choosing the best turned out before a race, and presenting the winner, but also incredibly satisfying when one of our tipsters has picked and recommended the winner to members.
