SBC Events has announced that it has had to reschedule its Betting on Sports Europe conference as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. It will now take place at Oval Cricket Stadium, London on 20-22 October 2020.
A statement by SBC Events said: “While the global COVID-19 situation continues to impact on society and business, it is clear that Betting on Sports Europe cannot be staged at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge stadium on its planned dates in June.
“The changing situation around public movement across Europe and the uncertainty about the calendar for the conclusion of the football season means we have decided to delay the event until October and move it to the Oval.”
The Kia Oval is one of the most historic sports stadia in the world. Home of the Surrey Cricket Team since 1845, the London stadium also hosted the England national team’s first official international tie in 1870 and was the venue for the first ever FA Cup Final in 1872. More recently it hosted the final of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.
