CasinoBeats Malta goes digital for 2020

SBC Events has announced that its online casino conference and exhibition CasinoBeats Malta 2020 has now evolved to become CasinoBeats Malta Digital, a fully virtual three-day conference, exhibition and networking experience.

The physical event was due to take place at the InterContinental Malta in mid-June, but with restrictions on travel and movement still affecting businesses, it has been transformed into a digital event on the new dates of June 30 to July 2.

Delivered in association with GamingMalta, CasinoBeats Malta Digital will use the same advanced technological environment that powered the successful SBC Digital Summit in late April. CasinoBeats Malta Digital will replicate the key elements that make physical trade shows so important to the gaming industry and make them accessible to people around the world.

GamingMalta is an independent non-profit foundation set up by the Government of Malta and the Malta Gaming Authority. Tasked with the remit of promoting Malta as a centre of excellence in the digital and remote gaming sector globally, it is also responsible for liaising with the local relevant authorities to improve Malta’s attractiveness as a jurisdiction and enhance the ecosystem surrounding the gaming industry.

Ivan Filletti, chief operations officer at GamingMalta, stated: “Via this collaboration with SBC, we are showcasing how Malta remains open for business, whilst celebrating the resilience of the igaming sector. The Maltese authorities’ efficient response to the COVID-19 pandemic has not gone unnoticed by international investors.

“CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020 will be the ideal thought leadership platform to take stock of the current scenario of Malta and the international igaming industry, together with what is shaping the sector’s agenda. We are keen to use this platform to share with both the public and stakeholders why Malta is and remains the home of gaming excellence.”

Delegates can look forward to a five-track conference featuring 120 high-level speakers from the worlds of online casino, slots, compliance, affiliate marketing and payments sharing their insights on 2020’s unique challenges and ideas about the long-term opportunities for the industry.

They can also learn about the latest innovations from leading suppliers at the 30 interactive booths in the virtual exhibition hall, and make new connections in the virtual networking lounge and at special networking sessions focused on specific themes and market segments.

Stewart Darkin, CasinoBeats managing director, said: “With the effects of the pandemic still being felt by businesses around the world and the gaming market in very different shape to the start of the year, it’s more important than ever for people in the industry to share knowledge and work together.

“CasinoBeats Malta Digital is the ideal platform for them to do it. We’ve had fantastic backing from the speakers, sponsors and exhibitors due to participate in the physical event and who see the potential offered by the virtual conference and exhibition format, not least from key partners such as GamingMalta and KPMG Malta. So, we’re looking forward to delivering a great event for the 3,000 delegates set to join us.”

The conference agenda includes panels examining how businesses have coped with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the casino market and the next steps for the industry as the world emerges from lockdown. It also features sessions addressing the compliance and payments challenges that have arisen in recent months.
