What are your predictions for the gaming industry in 2021?
I don’t know if we’ll get a new state with online casino this year, but it feels like there’s more momentum for it now than in the past. Legislatures are considering it in various states, and the biggest gaming companies in the US are now taking this opportunity seriously.
What are you promoting at SBC Digital North America 2021?
Catena Media continues to be a leader in covering the developing US online gambling industry and as an affiliate, with strong brands like Legal Sports Report, The Lines and PlayUSA and its regional network of sites.
What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2021?
I hope that we see the in-game golf betting product from IMG Arena deploy in the US this year. It’s perhaps the most exciting thing I’ve wanted to use myself as a sports bettor.
Which operator has impressed you the most over the last 12 months?
BetMGM has turned itself into a strong No. 3 or even No. 2 operator across sports betting and casino in the US in short order.
What partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?
The NFL is finally doing deals with betting operators.
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
In-game betting, which is still not close to mature in the US, and the future of regulation for the industry in the US.
