Delasport – Sponsor Profile – #boscon2017

Fodor - DelasportDelasport is sponsoring Betting on Sports 2017, the second edition of the largest international sports and betting trade conference at Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington.

Ahead of the 12-15 September event, we spoke to the company’s CEO Ran Fodor about what he is looking forward to at #boscon2017 and his perfect sporting event.

SBC: What are you looking forward to at Betting on Sports?

RF: We always have an eye out for the ever-shifting dynamic regulation has in the betting industry, being able to hear the opinions of experts in the field is something we look forward to every year. With most providers looking to comply in all aspects of their respective regulation, we know that a keen eye for detail is what can set you apart and ensure a smooth journey.

One of the key speakers we are looking forward to is Ory Weihs of XL Media. Between their expertise in media buying and an outstanding affiliate program, XL Media manages to have a diverse and target specific mobile presence that is top tier and at times sets industry standards.

SBC: What are you promoting at Betting on Sports?

RF: We offer a full-fledged sportsbook product enhanced by the latest trends in the betting world and designed according to the highest standards in the industry. We provide access to thousands of sporting events monthly with multiple markets available for each. Giving the best odds and margins along with risk management to ensure complete control.

We can provide anyone with a white label solution for both European and Asian interfaces, giving customization directly in the hands of our clients and enabling them to achieve their sought after results quickly and creatively.

SBC: Where can betting work together more closely with sport?

RF: With the digital age in high stride we always look to be mindful of new age betting such as esports. While esports is growing quickly in the betting industry there are still many trials ahead as far as regulation is concerned, esports inception into the betting was highly unregulated and even offered to the underage in the guise of betting with digital content in lieu of currency. We are excited in the steps that will be taken by our industry to ensure that esports will have a smooth transition into the giant market that it will be.

SBC: What sports betting partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?

RF: With a flurry of new sponsorships, partnerships and regulation updates to follow this past year. Our attention was directed at the Football Associations decision to end all sponsorship deals with betting companies, which ended a four-year contract (£4m-a-year) with Ladbrokes following high-profile gambling controversies. This, to us and many others, is one of the highlights of the year (even if disheartening) as it may set a trend for football sponsorships in general. The EFL Cup already has stated it would not reconsider its title sponsorship with Sky Bet because of the FA’s decision.

SBC: Describe your perfect sporting event

RF: We were always big fans of The Intercontinental Derby; we don’t claim that it’s perfect but it’s entertaining and full of spirit. In existence for over 100 years, it has evolved rivalries into a way of life connecting generations of people.

We feel some of the truest essence of the sport can be felt there. That raw, unrefined and vibrant play that you remember from days of youth out on the muddy fields, cold rain pouring down where you first felt true competition in sports, the feeling we all want to reach in the end with our love for the game.
