Ahead of the 20-23 March event, we spoke to the company’s affiliate manager about what he is looking forward to at #bofcon2018, which innovation he expects to capture the most attention in 2018, and who he is backing to lift the World Cup trophy in Russia.

SBC: What are you looking forward to at Betting on Football?

Catching up with the friends, business partners and entrepreneurs from the industry to share ideas and thoughts for the upcoming highlights like the showdowns in the top football leagues, Champions League Final and of course the 2018 World Cup.

Looking forward to new exhibitors and start-ups, which will make BOF 2018 a colourful event. The stadium tour at Stamford Bridge was one of the highlights in 2017, and I am sure Intertops will once again make a lot of business partners happy by taking them around the stadium again this year.

SBC: What are you promoting at Betting on Football?

As Intertops took the first online bet worldwide, our main focus is on the Intertops Sportsbook. SBC: What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2018?

The competition for the upcoming summer will be which brand attracts the most players for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Looking at this event, it will be crucial to offer a wide range of outrights/long-term bet offers, stats markets, player markets and, of course, outstanding promotions.

Most of the innovations will take place directly within the betting markets, especially in the area of live betting: price boosts, real-time scoreboards, plus the easy-to-use functionality of mobile sites will make a difference.

SBC: How can your company help to improve the customer experience ahead of the World Cup?

SBC: Who are you backing to win the tournament, and why?

My money is on Spain this year. After a couple of unsuccessful tournaments, Spain has built a hungry team that is ready to lift the trophy for a second time after 2010. The Spanish Primera Division teams have dominated Europe in recent years and lots of teams outside of the Big Two (Real Madrid, Barcelona) are completely underestimated.

They all have quality Spanish players in their squad and together with the older, established players, the Spanish national team has everything that’s needed to win such a tournament.
