Playson: We’re at a time when innovation is the key to keeping us connected

CasinoBeats Malta Digital is due to bring together some of the industry’s leading figures to focus on the pressing issues facing the gaming sector in 2020. And as the event draws closer, we’ve been speaking with our event sponsors to find out what parts of the conference they’re most looking forward to.

Lars Kollind, Business Development Manager at Playson, explained that he is looking forward to experiencing a digital exhibition format, which gives Playson the chance to promote some of their newest titles.

What are you looking forward to at CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020?

It’s going to be exciting to experience the new exhibition format and to see how it works. We’re at a time when innovation is the key to keeping us connected and informed, but most importantly, safe.

With Playson having recently signed a content deal with Royal Panda, I’m looking forward to Melvin Ritsema speaking on his panel, and there’s also the Showcase Feature: Future of Gaming which is likely to be quite insightful considering the challenges the industry has faced over the last few months.

What would be your biggest bit of advice for betting and gaming businesses trying to mitigate the impact of COVID-19?

First and foremost: take care of your employees. The safety and wellbeing of the team is fundamental in keeping operations running smoothly. At Playson, we had contingency plans already in place to make a fluid transition to a new working environment, but it’s important to keep in constant contact and listen to the feedback of employees as they are essentially the core structure of the business.

What are you promoting at CasinoBeats Malta Digital?

The virtual conference is a great opportunity for us to promote some of our new titles and to remind attendees of the vast array of games in our portfolio. Slots such as Solar Queen and Sunny Fruits: Hold and Win have been big hits this year along with our Funky Fruits series and the Timeless Fruit Slots portfolio.

It’s also a fantastic platform to highlight our integration-free engagement tools, such as seamless play, free spins, jackpots and its regular tournaments with daily prize drops. Ultimately, we’ll be there promoting the Playson brand and everything within it.

What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2020?

Our new game mechanics have proved a big hit with players, and our promotional tools have been hugely popular with both players and operators. Our tools are proven to enhance player retention, with our Network Tournaments a great way to promote a new game, and our jackpots reinvigorating classic titles helping bring them back to the top of the games lobby.

Which operator has impressed you the most in 2020?

This year I’ve been most impressed with iSoftBet. Not only has it been a pleasure to work alongside them, but its team’s professionalism and dedication has helped us expand our global audience which has always been a key goal for us here at Playson.

What partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?

I think the biggest one for me has got to be Playtech. We’ve signed some very important strategic deals over the last twelve months but partnering with the world’s largest games supplier truly cemented our position as a force to be reckoned with.

Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?

The Future of Gaming Track looks like a really interesting topic and one that I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on. I’m also looking forward to the networking element of the conference, as it’s always great to catch up with friends and colleagues, whether it’s face to face, or face to screen.
