SBC (Sports Betting Community), the leading specialist sports betting events and media business, has moved to further strengthen its growing team with the appointment of Martyn Elliott to the newly-created role of Content Marketing Manager.
Elliott brings with him more than 15 years of experience in the content industry, including writing for sports and news websites, managing editorial teams, and designing and implementing B2B content marketing strategies for international companies.
Among the projects he will be working on for SBC is the new fortnightly Betting on Sports webinar series, which will see well-known experts provide in-depth insights into some of the new opportunities and key issues facing the industry.
The webinars will also act as a preview of the 13 tracks at the industry-leading Betting on Sports 2019 event in London, when 3,500 delegates will be treated to a 300-speaker line-up that includes illustrious industry experts like Jason Robins (DraftKings), Paris Smith (Pinnacle) and Sergey Portnov (Parimatch).
Opening the webinar series on July 10 is Rare Breed – Betting on Politics, a discussion on how to price markets in what, after a series of poll-defying results over recent years, has become a highly unpredictable sector.
The panel for the session comprises Sarbjit Bakhshi (Head of Politics, Smarkets), Matt Shaddick (Head of Ladbrokes Politics) and Steve Donoughue (Owner/CEO of GamblingConsultant.co.uk).
Dennis Algreen, SBC’s Marketing Director, said: “We’re delighted to have Martyn on board to drive our marketing with additional creative, customer-focused content. The new Betting on Sports webinar series is a great example of how we are developing our content offering, and there are plenty more new ideas to come.”
Elliott added: “It’s an exciting time to be joining SBC, which is renowned for the quality of the content delivered at its events and through its media channels. The company has ambitious plans to further leverage its content offerings and I’m looking forward to being involved in some innovative projects to support them.”
