SBC Events launches Knowledge Centre for industry professionals

SBC Events has marked the launch of its new Knowledge Centre by sharing specialist sports betting insight from a trio of industry big hitters.

During last month’s Betting on Football conference at Stamford Bridge, SBC gathered valuable knowledge for sports betting and gaming professionals by conducting exclusive video interviews with speakers and high-level delegates.

The first three of these videos are now live on SBC Events, featuring Snaitech CEO Fabio Schiavolin, Mr Green CEO Jesper Kärrbrink and Danske Spil CEO Niels Erik Folmann, with many more to be added over the coming months.

On the second largest gambling market in Europe, Schiavolin commented: “There is still fragmentation in the growing Italian market, in which many small and medium operators are operating. By integrating SNAI with Cogetech, we created the basic structure for the consolidation of the market, followed by INTRALOT merging with Gamenet.”

Discussing Scandinavia’s reputation for gambling based innovation, Kärrbrink said: “Scandinavia is a hotbed of innovation because of its history – a history of entrepreneurship, of technology development, of successful companies such as Ericsson and Spotify, but also a heritage of gambling, which has been a key part of society for hundreds of years. If you add this together, you get a very interesting environment for technology driven betting companies.”

Addressing the regulatory challenges across the region, Folmann added: “The key challenge for the Scandinavian sports betting market is that we have full regulation in Denmark, and Sweden coming up, but Finland and Norway are not regulated yet, so you have this enormous pressure from our international competitors on both the commercial terms and innovation.”

SBC Events is part of the SBC Global group of companies that works with industry leaders to develop the sports betting industry through news coverage, knowledge creation, conferences and exhibitions, seminars and industry awards.

SBC Global Founder Rasmus Sojmark said: “The Knowledge Centre on SBC Events delivers sports betting insight from some of the leading lights in the industry, covering key topics that are then expanded on at our conferences throughout the year. Publishing interviews with market leaders from Italy and Scandinavia is the perfect way to get this underway.”
