With CasinoBeats Malta Digital underway, Spinmatic’s Managing Director Norbert Mathies told SBC that the event gives them the opportunity to catch up with industry professionals, listen to some topical panel sessions and promote their latest launches.
What are you looking forward to at CasinoBeats Malta Digital 2020?
Mainly, we are looking forward to showcasing our products. As it is such an outstanding casino games package, we are very happy and proud to have the possibility to showcase it at an event like CasinoBeats Malta Digital. And for sure, we are looking forward to seeing some of the nice panels and listening to the discussions from the industry professionals.
What would be your biggest bit of advice for betting and gaming businesses trying to mitigate the impact of COVID-19?
Keep on pushing, keep on believing, stay strong and we will all overcome it and go back to what it was before. Everybody needs to deal with these issues, everybody has its own specific strategies.
For us, it wasn’t that hard, because we have a big client base and our core markets are online markets. So the impact was not so big as it was for others, specifically for the casino business. So for us it has been a good driver to adopt new technologies, helping people to be able to work remotely, etc.
What are you promoting at CasinoBeats Malta Digital?
We are promoting some of our latest launches, such as the new released game Mafioso, Betrick, Real Life Superheroes Bonus and Freeway.
What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2020?
Spinalott is an outstanding game and it’s going to have a big impact. I think it will be a kind of a change in the gaming industry because it is a real driver of innovation in 2020. It is a slot and lottery hybrid with the highest jackpot ever paid in the slot history. No one did it before; this is a totally new game.
Which operator has impressed you the most in 2020?
I can’t pick just one because I was very impressed by plenty of operators and how they overcame and reacted to a bad situation. Especially in the most affected countries, like Italy and Spain, where we saw real big names overcoming the situation in a very good way.
What partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?
This is not just a promotion thing, this is real: we signed so many deals with companies from all around the world that it is not possible to pick just one. All these operators have made so many innovations in our industry, putting so much effort on the player’s point of view… Again, a lot of companies have impressed us.
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
The whole event looks very interesting and every topic in the agenda makes a lot of sense, in my opinion. Very well done choosing the different topics, especially according to the situation we are living.
We are looking forward to seeing our industry friends showcasing their products at the event.
And, for sure, we will be visiting some of the panels, like the one about workplace culture and well-being, as our main focus is our people.
