The SBC Awards 2016 on Wednesday 7th December will round off a landmark year for the sports betting and gaming industry. Hereβs ten reasons why you donβt want to miss out:
1 – Get in the festive spirit
The ceremony falls at the perfect time for you to bring your colleagues and partners along for an early Christmas party. At SBC, weβll jump at any chance to bring forward the festivities.
2 – Last major networking event until ICE
Over 400 people are expected at this yearβs ceremony, and a quick look at the shortlists for each award shows how many of the industryβs most exciting brands will be in attendance. Given people are planning for ICE now, the Awards could be the perfect place to make some connections ahead of the exhibition. With so many high-level decision makers and professionals from right across the industry attending, you might want to order some new business cards.
3 – Celebrate the success stories
2016 has been a tumultuous year for many reasons, and the sports betting industry has seen huge developments. The SBC Awards has been created as a year-end celebration, with awards which recognise the best companies in the sports betting industry. In total, we will be handing out seven overall awards and seven innovation awards.
4 – Party like a billionaire
Under the Bridge is Roman Abramovich’s personal nightclub, specced out to his demands and no longer open to the public after a Β£30m overhaul. With personal performances from the likes of BeyoncΓ©, Under the Bridge is one of Londonβs premier party venues.
5 – Enjoy some βkickingβ beats from a world beater
Voted the βWorldβs Sexiest DJβ in 2009, Kellie Acreman has been sponsored by EnergyBet to provide a mix of music throughout the evening. Acreman became one of Ocean Beach Club Ibizaβs first female residents in 2012, toured with Jessie J in 2013 and completed a mini-tour of Australia last summer.
6 – Welcome an award-winning sports presenter
Hayley McQueen, a familiar face to viewers of Sky Sports News HD and Sky Sportsβ football coverage, has been sponsored by Argyll Entertainment to open the evening and present all our awards. McQueen knows her onions when it comes to sport and also co-presents The Offside Rule, a female-hosted podcast about football.
7 – Feast on the free drinks and canapes
The ticket price of Β£80 (+VAT) doesnβt just cover your club entry from 7:00 pm. It also includes free beers and wine, and a selection of canapes throughout the evening.
8 – Take the perfect βselfieβ
We all know someone in the industry who canβt resist taking a βcheeky selfieβ. So, itβs just as well that 138.com is sponsoring a βselfie machineβ, and will be running a competition throughout the evening to find the best exponent of the βselfieβ.
9 – Recognise the industryβs heritage
This year sees the launch of the SBC Sports Betting Hall of Fame, which has been curated in order to recognise the individuals who have contributed a great deal to the industry over the course of their careers with a lasting legacy. Three people will be inaugurated into the Hall of Fame. Do you make the grade?
10 – Let there be snow
We canβt give this 100% confirmation just yet, but rumours of a snow machine and inflatable snow globe are getting stronger by the day. SBC is gearing up to provide a pre-Christmas fairy tale!
OPTIMA has been confirmed as the headline sponsor, alongside 138.com, Argyll Entertainment, BetBrain, BetConstruct, Betradar, InPlay Sports Data, LeoVegas, Mr Green, EnergyBet, Golden Race, SBTech and Vermantia.
