Ahead of the event, we spoke with Vasilije Lekovic who is the Director of Gaming Accounts at Trustly where he discussed Trustly’s participation in the PaymentExpert forum and what the firm plans for #bofcon
What are you looking forward to at Betting on Football?
Betting on Football is one of my favourite events because it brings together all the leading experts in the sports betting industry. It’s always fun to meet with our merchants and understand how we can better solve their pain points. It’s also a great opportunity to learn about trends in the industry and showcase our latest payment innovations.
What are you promoting at Betting on Football?
In the past year, Trustly’s Pay N Play® technology has really taken the gaming industry by storm. At Betting on Football, we will promote our recently launched Pay N Play® markets — Estonia and Denmark — and also present our latest innovation, In-Banner Pay N Play®.
This new application takes the powerful Pay N Play® technology and puts it in a banner, which can be distributed across affiliate sites and allow players to place a bet from directly within those banners. It’s still pretty new but has shown promising success already.
What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2019?
As new markets open up and competition gets stiffer, I think there will be an increased focus on the user experience in order to differentiate operators. Technologies that streamline the user experience — by making it safer, faster or more immersive — will ultimately capture the most interest.
Do you expect speed of innovation to slow in the absence of a major football tournament?
I expect quite the opposite, actually. In the absence of a major football tournament, operators will be forced to be more creative in attracting and retaining players and I believe this will drive new innovations. It will be really exciting to see what results!
How can betting and football stakeholders work together more effectively?
I strongly believe that the information exchange within the football and betting industries is a key to success and innovation. Forums and conferences such as Betting on Football that gather the experts from all areas of the industry to share their experiences and approaches offer a very efficient way to improve collaboration.
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
That would definitely be the PaymentExpert Forum, where Trustly will participate, as well as the Global Markets panels, especially “USA – The undiscovered country.”
Betting on Football provides a variety of interesting forums for people working in betting and gambling to learn a lot of useful information about the innovation, new trends and market changes, as well as the how to overcome regulatory challenges. For that reason, I am sure that there will be plenty more panels that I will visit this year during the conference.
