BetConstruct is sponsoring Betting on Sports 2017, the second edition of the largest international sports and betting trade conference at Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington.

Ahead of the 12-15 September event, we spoke to the company’s CEO Vahe Baloulian about what he is looking forward to at #boscon2017, his perfect sporting event, and how sports and betting can work better together.

SBC: What are you looking forward to at Betting on Sports?

VB: Betting on Sports conference is becoming more and more popular, not least because of the energy and resources the organizers put into it. It is a place where new partnerships are created and the old ones are strengthened.

This year, as a moderator I will have a great chance to ask questions and learn from CEOs of Pinnacle, BetBright, Mybet, Favbet and Parimatch. That should be a very interesting session. We also expect to meet many of our peers, current and future partners during the BOS events.

SBC: What are you promoting at Betting on Sports?

VB: We will present the entire line up of our state-of-the-art products, services and technologies related to betting on sports. This will include scouting services, data, odds feed, Spring BME and a lot more. I think that the most interesting discovery for the attendees will be the SpringBME (Business Management Environment).

It is a new management infrastructure for betting and gaming businesses. Through this unique portal, operators can enjoy an unprecedented expediency, autonomy, reliability, transparency and freedom to grow their business.

SBC: Where can betting work together more closely with sport?

VB: Although betting on sports goes back over 2,000 years, sports enjoys all the glory and betting still must constantly fight for its reputation. Yes, the betting industry should be vigilant when it comes to social responsibility and I am confident that we are.

However, very few advertisers, if any, can promote interest in the sporting event the way betting businesses do by bringing added entertainment to fans and additional source of revenue to sports. Sports should treat the betting companies not simply as paying advertisers and sponsors but as partners and this should be manifested to public and politicians.

SBC: Describe your perfect sporting event  

VB: My perfect sporting event is yet to come, I hope. However, from the past, there were a few. One is the basketball game in Los Angeles where we had the courtside seats as a sponsor – nothing beats that feeling. Another that I’ll never forget was at the Stade de France. French and Ukrainian national teams were playing what happen to be, as I was explained, the 300th game of the French side.

For this, they invited to the field every living player of the French national team. It was a good game with Zinedine Zidane scoring the only goal, assisted by Thierry Henry. An amazing spectacle with fireworks and celebrations.
