CasinoBeats Summit: Championing Women in the Casino Industry

A Journey of Empowerment: CasinoBeats Summit 2024 Champions Women in the Casino Industry

At the forefront of change, the CasinoBeats Summit 2024 promises to be a catalyst for female leadership within the casino industry, featuring an array of empowering activities.

From meditation sessions and yoga classes to leadership talks and a poker tournament, the summit aims to foster a sense of community while addressing crucial issues such as stress management and leadership empowerment.

“It’s a platform for women to unite, share their successes, and cultivate the leadership qualities needed to thrive in the industry. It was really important for us to bring practical takeaways from these sessions and structure the day to ensure a seamless flow from each session. It is all about providing a collaborative, fun and educational experience at CasinoBeats Summit, fostering both personal and professional growth” said Natalie Lees, Senior Conference Producer at SBC.

The Women in Gaming Day will kick off early between 9:00 – 10:00 on the second day of the event, Thursday, May 23rd, with a Women in Gaming Breakfast. It’s a time-honoured tradition at SBC events where women come together over breakfast, creating a space to connect, chat, and start the day on a high note, setting the perfect vibe for what’s ahead!

After breakfast, women can engage in the day’s first impactful workshop titled β€˜Mindful Mastery: A Meditation Workshop for Stress Management and Presence.’ This session, led by yoga experts Ana Luiza Cardoso and Svetlana Abela, delves deep into meditation fundamentals, providing invaluable insights into stress management and practical techniques for immediate relief. Participants will learn to integrate mindfulness into their daily routines, enhancing their clarity and efficiency in tackling multiple responsibilities. During this workshop, women will have the opportunity to partake in both meditation and yoga sessions, split into two groups for maximum participation. Gym attire is unnecessary, as these sessions are tailored to accommodate conference settings and can be comfortably performed in regular attire. Scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00, the workshop will be held in the Workshop Room on Level 2.

Following this, the workshop titled β€˜Voices Unveiled: Illuminating Bias through Shared Stories’ will see leaders from Global Gaming Women, Women in Gaming and industry leaders present real-life experiences of women in our industry. The session will comprise statements collected anonymously prior to the event detailing the various challenges women encounter, including but not limited to mental health struggles, physical ailments, and other obstacles they face in the workplace.Β

Apart from fostering empathy, understanding, and a collective commitment to positive change, the goal is to amplify the voices of those who may otherwise remain unheard and empower leaders to take meaningful action in addressing these issues head-on. The session is set to take place fromΒ  11:00 – 12:00.

Additionally, female professionals in the casino industry will have the opportunity to participate in the ‘High Stakes Leadership’ workshop from 12:00 to 13:00. This closed-door mentorship session will be led by Emily Haruko Leeb, Co-Founder & CEO of Saroca and Claire Adamou, VP of Development at Saroca, a company that specialising in elevating gaming industry businesses through targeted leadership development programs and organizational effectiveness consulting. Attendees will receive the tools to enhance communication, bolster trust and boost productivity within their team and client relationships. Additionally, attendees will delve into effective strategies for confidently navigating times of stress and change.

To end the day, attendees will have the opportunity to put their poker skills to the test in a competitive 100-person poker tournament, hosted by Ivonne Montealegre, CEO of Fiebre Ltd. The tournament, in partnership with Casino Malta, is scheduled to take place at 15:00 and is conveniently located on the exhibition floor. It will serve as an ideal platform for participants to enjoy games of poker while further honing their abilities and strengthening their bonds.
