The gambling industry has experienced exponential growth over the last two decades, explained Chris Nikolopoulos – Chief Commercial Officer of BETBY – and 2021 looks to be no different as betting and gaming companies continue to find new ways to innovate and grow.
Speaking to SBC ahead of this month’s SBC Digital – India 2021, which takes place from 27-28 January, Nikolopoulos gave us a rundown of what we can expect from BETBY at the event, his predictions for 2021 and why data analytics and artificial intelligence should be at the forefront of the industry’s mind.
What are you looking forward to at SBC Digital – India 2021?
SBC India will be a very interesting event for all of us who have the appetite of exploring gaming operations in a huge and booming market , such as India. I am looking forward to attending l lots of different panels as well as catching up with several industry partners and friends.
What are your predictions for the gaming industry in 2021?
Gaming industry has been in constant growth for the last two decades and 2021 will be no different. The pandemic may have affected certain verticals, such as sports betting, but I am confident that, just like 2020, the industry will find its ways around it. Stay positive!
What are you promoting at SBC Digital – India 2021?
BETBY is promoting its fully managed sportsbook solution, especially designed for Operators in Indian market as it includes several key verticals such as full data cricket packages and specific layouts , appealing to the local audience. We have put a lot of thought on the product and we are confident we are covering all the operational requirements and more.
On top of that, our in house made and very successful portfolio of BETBY Games will be promoted, including new titles such as virtual cricket , which is expected to be a huge success! Stay tuned!
What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2021?
I think the future of the industry will be based on payment innovation, allowing clients to deposit and withdraw quickly and efficiently as well as data analytics and AI which will allow companies to identify patterns in advance and act proactively rather than reactively.
This is something we already do in BETBY and we see amazing results from. Anything towards the two directions above is very interesting and is something I am keeping a close eye on!
Which operator has impressed you the most over the last 12 months?
Coming from a sports betting background, I will go with Bet365. Their brand name and industry influence remains huge and second to none.
What partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?
Lots of different deals and partnerships have been made over the last months and each of them has its own story and vision. In BETBY, we are in the final stages of agreeing with one of the top casino operators in Europe, who will be taking our sportsbook in new, emerging markets and we are very excited about it. I can’t say more for now but keep a close eye to us, it’s definitely worth it!
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
The ‘Psychology of the player’ part of the agenda is very appealing to me and I am definitely looking forward to it. We are building our products for the players to use and have a nice experience so what they think is of the greatest importance.
