Don Best Sports is sponsoring Betting on Sports 2018, the 3rd edition of the largest international sports and betting trade conference at Olympia London.
Ahead of the 18-21 September event, we asked the company’s Managing Director Benjie Cherniak to disclose Don Best Sport’s promotion plans for #boscon2018, nominate one sports betting partnership that has stood out in the last 12 months, and pick out the sporting event he would most like to attend.
SBC: What are you looking forward to at Betting on Sports?
BC: The conference as a whole is outstanding but coming from across the pond I appreciate the opportunity to educate myself on developments globally within the sports betting space. There are typically stakeholders from all parts of Europe, Asia, and well beyond in attendance such that I leave the conference with a better understanding of both key drivers globally as well as opportunities.
SBC: What are you promoting at Betting on Sports?
BC: As always, our focus is providing US sports odds to global operators. With the recent PASPA repeal, most of mine and my staff’s attention these days is on the US market, yet there remains incredible demand globally for our unique offering.
SBC: Which sports betting operator has impressed you the most in 2018?
BC: Being in the US, and with sports betting finally rolling out state by state, I’ll go with who I believe has been the most impressive local operator in these early months, and that would be William Hill USA. They’ve been preparing for widespread legalized sports betting for a long time and have been ready to mobilize from day one. William Hill has assembled an outstanding team stateside and as such they are really well positioned in 2018 and beyond.
SBC: What sports betting partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?
BC: I’ll go with a less conventional answer then you might think. For me, a really big one is Kambi’s partnership with Rush Street, which encompasses the US market as well as Colombia. Rush Street is an extremely well-respected US operator and for Kambi to win that mandate speaks to the significant progress that they have made in recent years.
SBC: If you could attend one sporting event, what would it be?
BC: Being a Vegas resident, it was an absolute privilege to watch our NHL team – the Golden Knights – make it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals in our inaugural season. As much as I love the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, March Madness, etc – I’m more excited for another season of Knights hockey starting in October then I am for anything else. Ras, Andy, and the rest of team SBC – you need to make it down to Vegas for a game.
