Intertops – Focusing on the US markets

The road to SBC’s Betting on Sports continues, and with exactly two weeks to go, we caught up with event sponsor Intertops

We sat down with their Affiliate Manager, Patrick Ortner, who told SBC about Intertops’ affiliate deal package and discussed his excitement surrounding the US market.

#boscon, held 17-20 September at Olympia London, is the world’s leading sports betting industry event, with this year’s conference set to boast 300 leading industry speakers across 50 sessions, with 120 exhibitors displaying their latest products.

What are you looking forward to at Betting on Sports?

As a result of the weekly updates to the law in the US market, I am super excited about all the US speakers. About their forecasts, expectations and the new possibilities in different states. I am also looking forward to hearing about the borders that must be crossed to get a foot in the door of the US market, as well as the upcoming issues with, for example, the NBA, betting taxes etc.

What are you promoting at Betting on Sports?

Once again, we are promoting our outstanding Affiliate Deal Package which includes a no-negative-carry-over policy and payments that work like clockwork, from crypto currencies to bank wires. Intertops has a No Player Quota to fulfil – our affiliates have been paid for the past 20 years for every player redirected in our direction. The affiliates are able to choose between rev share, CPA or a hybrid deal and, of course, all deals are valid for all our products.

What industry innovation will capture the most attention in 2019?

For me the big question is how can we improve existing technologies? We still experience delay times with live betting and live streaming, while the pictures are hardly perfectly synchronised. Horse-racing betting in running needs a further revolution, which a couple of big brands are working on now. The latest cooperation between big brands and data providers could be a step in the right direction (ITF Tennis, MLB, etc.)

One other focus could be the Cash Out button, which has seen big recent improvements allowing cash-outs on the Asian Handicap.

Which sports betting operator has impressed you the most in 2019?

Well, what we have seen in the past 12 months is that almost every big brand has been working with brand ambassadors that hopefully represent the big sportsbook’s brand-image in an authentic way. Some made good decisions here, while other ambassadors, in my opinion, have done more harm than good.

What sports betting partnership has stood out in the past 12 months?

Some of the brands have done a great job with testimonials that suit their brand to a tee or were timed at exactly the right moment, such as the Ibrahimovic Deal. Especially in the UK, we have seen lots of good commercials promoting individual price boosts for each user.

If you could attend one sporting event, what would it be?

The Super Bowl is still the most important event on the planet – where else do you get the excitement of the game itself, the best artists during the halftime break and the big show that the Americans create around the event? Intertops gives away annual Super Bowl tickets to its customers, but unfortunately, I am not allowed to be in the hat for the draw.

Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?

As mentioned before, the main focus is on the US market. Everyone wants to get a foot in the door, so all the US panels have my attention. Furthermore, I am really interested in the recent optimization of E-sports data – there had been many issues with delivering real-time data and feeds in Skill Betting. Another topic that affects all of us is the future of payments – will Crypto be the solution or how else can we compensate possibly credit card bans?

Delegates will be treated to world-class hospitality with plenty of business and networking opportunities at some of London’s most iconic venues including the Natural History Museum. For more information about the event, please visit the Betting on Sports website.
