Following a very disruptive 2020, this year – according to Mikael Lijtenstein – CEO of AstroPay – will be a year of inspiration to leverage new opportunities.
Speaking to SBC ahead of next week’s SBC Digital – Latinoamérica, which takes place from 2 – 3 March, Lijtenstein explained how AstroPay’s One Touch digital wallet can create a ‘seamless’ online experience and how he is looking forward to discussing the developments within the Latin American market.
What are you looking forward to at SBC Digital – Latinoamérica 2021?
Our main interest in attending this event is networking as well as building brand awareness. We also consider this a good opportunity to show our products and services.
What are your predictions for the gaming industry in 2021?
Regarding payments, we believe that in 2021 the focus will be in instantaneity, user experience and security. Integrated by processors, switches, acquirers, wallets, fraud and risk providers, fintechs and traditional financial institutions, the payments ecosystem has evolved making online payments more accessible than ever.
The innovations that were led by fintechs and wallets will be accelerated in 2021, and those that provide faster and tech-friendly ways of using money and paying for services will be at the forefront.
Being 2020 the year of acceleration and growing, we may say that 2021 will be the time for settlement and consolidation for fintech platforms. As the escalation has been rapid, consumers – now used to paying digitally, will demand for more security and functionalities to make the journey as natural as possible as well as safe. Further, it will be a year of inspiration to leverage the opportunities this crisis, generated by Covid-19, offers to improve the way we live.
What are you promoting at SBC Digital – Latinoamérica 2021?
We are promoting One Touch, a digital wallet that allows merchants to process deposits and withdrawals in an easy and safe way. A solution that requires no effort or resources from their side. This wallet can be easily adopted by any consumer who wants to have his/her funds available in one account and ready to be used.
We have also considered the importance that users give to simplicity when paying. They will be able to set auto-approve for a specific merchant so deposits can be made through one touch without leaving the merchant’s cashier. Also, if a user has no balance, he or she will be able to purchase online seamlessly when confirming the transaction directly from an adopted payment method such as a credit card.
With more than 2 million users, 500 merchants and 200 payment methods we offer merchants the possibility to access them effortlessly and to broaden their business.
Which parts of the conference agenda have caught your eye?
The agenda as a whole is attractive to those who want to have a clear picture about the reality of the industry in Latin America.
