SBC Summit is closer than you think, and that can only mean one thing—it’s time to start preparing to make the most of this event. We know exactly how to help, and this blog post is here to give you all the tips you need. (Okay, we lied. It actually means two things—the second one is that if you don’t have a ticket yet, now’s the time to get one. With 25,000 of us attending, it’s going to be bigger than Iceland’s entire military force. 🤣Jokes aside (cause Iceland doesn’t even have a military), it’s going to be big. Very big. While the event is where the main networking happens, we want to ensure you have the opportunity to prepare ahead of time, making your experience at FIL stress-free and streamlined before, during, and after the Summit. Our dedicated app, SBC Connect Plus, is the primary tool we recommend for your event preparation. Download it as soon as it becomes available. Think of it as a condensed version of the website with enhanced access, capabilities, and networking features, all in a user-friendly interface for use at the summit.

Benefits of Using SBC Connect Plus

      • Increase Your Chances to Get Discovered: Ensure your personal profile is comprehensive and up-to-date by including all relevant data. Add your photo (optional), job title, company, website URL, and a brief description of your expertise and experience. Additionally, you can upload supporting files to provide more depth to your profile. Listing the country you’re based in will further enhance geographically targeted requests, making your profile more effective in connecting with the right opportunities.
      • Access Exhibitor Info: With 600 exhibitors at the expo, easy access to their information and stand numbers is essential. Our app allows you to browse the full list of exhibitors or search for specific companies. Each listing provides a short description of the company, the markets it operates in, and the locations of its offices or representatives. Want to create a list of potential leads? Simply bookmark exhibitors by clicking the star next to their names, and they’ll be saved to your personal list. Plus, if you click on a company’s stand number, the system will open a floor map to show you their exact location on the 110,000 square meter expo floor. This feature is incredibly helpful for navigating the vast space efficiently.
      • Discover Sponsor Info: Some sponsors have booths and are included in the “Exhibitors” section, but even if they don’t, you can still find them in the “Sponsors” field on the app. You’ll get all the same details as you do for exhibitors, minus the stand number if they don’t have a booth.
      • Add Your Favourite Agenda Sessions: With eight stages running simultaneously and a large show floor, planning ahead is crucial. You can access the agenda on the website and add sessions to your calendar, but the app offers a one-stop solution. Browse the agenda, favourite the sessions you don’t want to miss, and get info on timings, locations, and speakers. Click on a session for its description and speaker details. Apply filters to focus on specific content tracks or speakers of interest. If you have conflicting sessions, don’t worry—content will be available on demand a few weeks after the event, so you can catch up on what you missed or rewatch your favourite panels.
      • Access the Schedule: With so much happening, it’s crucial to check the schedule in advance and add the events you want to attend to your Google Calendar. You’ll find everything from expo floor gatherings to evening networking events in the schedule. Use the “Open Map” feature to easily locate where each event is taking place. This way, you won’t forget what’s on and will receive a reminder beforehand, ensuring you arrive on time. With 25,000 attendees, the capacity of venues follows a first-come, first-served approach.
      • Use the Interactive Floor Map: Feeling disoriented on the expo floor? Simply input the name of the booth you’re next to and your intended destination. The map will instantly provide you with a clear route, making it effortless to find your way to your next meeting.
      • Schedule Meetings: The app lets you send messages to potential leads and schedule meetings. These meetings will be held in the SBC Connect Lounges unless otherwise arranged by both parties. It’s a fantastic chance to connect with people outside your usual network.
      • Business Matchmaking: Based on your profile and those of other SBC Connect Plus users, the app will provide personalised suggestions of people you might want to connect with. To make sure you appear on others’ suggestion lists, it’s crucial to keep your profile updated and reflective of what you’re looking for.
      • Scan your leads: Collecting business cards is one approach, but is it the most efficient? It often means a lot of admin work after the event. As an exhibitor or sponsor, we recommend scanning a lead’s badge instead after an engaging conversation. The app will automatically assess the lead (is it a ‘hot’ prospect based on your profile?) and help you prioritise them. You can then easily download your list of leads.

        For Exhibitors & Sponsors

Exhibitors already have early access to the web version of the app, allowing them to set up their profiles and get comfortable with the platform ahead of its release to all attendees a couple of weeks later. We highly recommend that exhibitors and sponsors take advantage of this time to finalise their company details on SBC Connect Plus, as it will be essential for attendees looking to connect with you about your products, offerings, and services.

Before we dive into optimising your profile for maximum visibility, let’s go over the steps to log into SBC Connect for the first time. Once the platform launches, you’ll receive an email in your inbox with the subject line: “Your experience at SBC Summit starts now!” If you can’t find it, try searching for this phrase.

Within that email, you’ll find your personal password to access SBC Connect Plus. Use the same email address that received this message. The email also includes some basic information to help you get started.

Once logged into the web platform:

        • Update your profile using the button at the top right to help others get to know you better.
        • Browse recommended delegate profiles and start conversations in the ‘Meet’ section.
        • Streamline your matchmaking and content needs through the “Meet,” “Agenda,” and “Planner” options in the navigation bar.
        • Explore the conference agenda and review the list of exhibiting companies along with their products.
        • Plan your visit under “My Profile” by favouriting sessions and pre-scheduling meetings. Enable app notifications to stay updated on your onsite activities.
        • Utilise the event maps to find and navigate to companies, sessions, and your pre-scheduled meetings.

If you need assistance with the platform, please check the FAQ section. If you have any further questions, feel free to reply to the email you received.

        Useful Links for Exhibitors/Sponsors:

        • How can I beautify my company profile?

To optimise your company profile on SBC Connect Plus, it’s recommended to use a 1200px x 150px banner image and a 250px x 250px logo, both in PNG or JPEG format with a maximum file size of 1 MB. Provide a compelling company description within 3000 characters. You can also enhance your profile by embedding multimedia content via HTML IFrame and linking your social media accounts, including your website and LinkedIn. To showcase your products, navigate to “My Products,” add product details, and include relevant images or videos. Categorise your products appropriately to ensure they are easily discoverable.

More information (with screenshots) can be found here.

        • Uploading PDFs to your company profile

All companies can easily upload PDF files for brochures, catalogues, and other documents by following a few simple steps. First, click on your profile icon at the top right corner and select “My Company” from the menu. Then, click on “Add Brochure (PDF),” enter the title of your PDF, and upload the file (maximum size: 10MB). After clicking “Save,” the uploaded file will be displayed on the page. To preview the PDF, simply click on “View.”

More information (with screenshots) can be found here.

Pro tip: As mentioned above, exhibitors have access to a feature that allows them to scan leads. To maximise this experience, it’s important to understand how the scanning tools work. First, there are two scanning access roles: Admin and Staff. Admins can send leads to users’ emails and export analytics, while Staff can view and edit lead details but cannot export data. Once roles are assigned, exhibitors or scanning groups can follow the provided steps to effectively use these features. For more information on scanning leads, scoring them, and accessing analytics, please read this.

        For Attendees

Keeping your profile up-to-date is essential for providing accurate information to event participants. To update your profile, click on the top right corner of the hub and select “My Profile” from the menu. Ensure all profile details are complete; a red dot will indicate any missing information, which will disappear once updated. You can update your profile by adding an image, name, job role, and descriptions. Be sure to write a compelling description within the 3000-character limit to effectively highlight yourself, your company, and your services or products.

        You can then:

        • Schedule meetings with various company representatives
        • Customise or add your interests to increase your visibility
        • View the Matchmaking Analysis on your profile. Here’s how.
        • And explore additional features covered in the exhibitor section.Remember: attendees still have no access to the web platform. However, it will become available soon.

Remember to Look Out for Emails in Your Inbox

You will receive additional communications from us via SBC Connect Plus. These may include:

          • An email explaining how to use SBC Connect Plus
          • Reminders to log into the app
          • Notifications that it’s time to book meetings
          • Emails informing you of meeting requests that need your review
          • A reminder to download the app (available through both Android and iOS stores) once it’s available (please note that app access is granted a couple of weeks before the event, but you can use the web version as soon as it becomes available).
