With SBC Summit being the fastest-growing sports betting and iGaming show globally, we needed a solid plan (and someone to lead it flawlessly). In this blog post, Gabor Tatrai, our Chief Experience Officer, shares his insights to help you, the future SBC Summit attendee, have a hassle-free, productive, and efficient experience.

Making the Most of SBC Summit: Key Tips and Insights from our Chief Experience Officer

This year’s SBC Summit exhibition and conference is set to be massive.

We’re calling it “The Greatest Show in Gaming” for a reason.

Our flagship event is moving to Lisbon and we’re expanding the show floor to a huge 110,000 square meters—quite a leap from last year’s 38,000 square meters.

And we can’t wait for you to experience it!

We’ll have 600 exhibitors and expect 25,000 attendees.

Plus, we’re adding three exciting new Summits.

We know this sounds like a lot to handle.

But we’re more than ready.

Bigger, in this case, will definitely mean better. That’s a promise.

REGISTRATION: SMOOTHER THAN YOUR CAT’S FUR

Making sure our 25,000 attendees have a smooth registration experience is our top priority. It’s your first interaction at the Summit, and we want it to be a great one!

Airport Registration

To streamline your experience, we’re introducing airport registration at the Humberto Delgado Airport

From Monday, September 23 to Wednesday, September 25, 2024, between 06:30 and 23:00, international travellers can conveniently pick up their badges ahead of the event days. This means you can use the “fast track” lane upon arrival at the venue, bypassing queues.

Pro Tip: Keep an eye out for our staff (they’ll be wearing SBC t-shirts) and follow the signs in the arrival hall—they’ll help you find the registration area so you won’t waste any time.

Good to Know: Multiple stations will be set up, ensuring a swift process that shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes (so even if you feel tired after the long trip, do still make sure to use this opportunity to grab your badge—you’ll thank me later).

Additional Pre-event Badge Collection Opportunities

Here are other pre-event badge collection options:

  • Monday: Pre-registration badge collection at Feira Internacional de Lisboa from 12:00 to 20:00.
  • Monday: SBC Football Championship at Benfica Stadium, where players and spectators can collect badges from 13:00 to 18:00.
  • Tuesday: Exclusive badge collection at the SBC Leaders Summit at Myriad Hotel, starting at 10:00. This is an invite-only event, so please note that you can only pick up your badge at the Myriad Hotel if you’re attending the SBC Leaders Summit.

Good to Know: C-level executives attending the invite-only SBC Leaders Summit on Tuesday at the 5-star Myriad by Sana Hotel will find their badges already printed and available for pickup in their hotel rooms, provided they are staying at the same hotel and check in before Tuesday. Those who are not staying at the Myriad can pick up their badges at the SBC Leaders Summit, where registration desks will also be available. This badge will grant access to both the Leaders Summit and the core SBC Summit, so be sure to keep it handy to skip the queue when you arrive at the FIL.

Core Event Days

During Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, badge collection will be available from 09:00 to 18:00 at the following registration points:

  • Registration 1: Located next to the FIL entrance, the main registration will be the one with the most scanners and help desks. If you already have your badge, you can skip the queue and head directly to the entrance.
  • Registration 2: In close proximity to Registration 1 but located inside the building, this registration area helps distribute the traffic for shorter waiting times.
  • Registration 3: Located at the North end of the venue, at the furthest right entry point, this registration area is for the  Affiliate Leaders Summit (but you can pick up you SBC Summit badge too).
  • Registration 4: The ESI Lisbon registration will be located at the entrance of the ESI Lisbon Summit (next to MEO Arena).Pro Tip 1: Make sure to check out the floor plan and familiarise yourself with it. You can easily find the registration areas by using the search function—just type “Registration.”

Pro Tip 2: You don’t need your whole team to stand in the queue to pick up the badges; one (organised) colleague can handle badge distribution—we’re happy to allow you to pick up the badges on behalf of your colleagues.

Pro Tip 3: Minimise waiting time by preparing for the registration process in advance. Find your ticket by searching your email for “Order Confirmation to SBC Summit 2024”—this email will contain your ticket as an attachment. You can use the QR code or barcode on the ticket to scan at the registration point, and your badge will be printed automatically. To streamline this process, please locate and label the email beforehand, and have it ready when you arrive.

Pro Tip 4: If you cannot find the email but have registered for the event, try entering your email address in the search function to locate your registration (at the registration desk). If these attempts are unsuccessful, the staff will direct you to one of the help desks. The help desk personnel will need your basic information (name, last name, company name) to locate your ticket in the system and print your badge.

Pro Tip 5: Temporary staff will be highly visible throughout the event, guiding attendees at entrances and directing them to appropriate registration lanes based on their badge status. If one area is busy, they’ll redirect you to another registration desk or the designated Affiliate Leaders Summit or ESI Summit registration areas.

Pro Tip 6: We’re currently crafting a registration page for all attendees, packed with everything you need to navigate registration smoothly. Keep an eye out for it on the official SBC Summit website.

Pro Tip 7: The badges will be colour-coded, making it easy to identify leads based on company type—whether affiliates or operators—on the expansive expo floor. This should streamline the entire process. More information on the badge types is available in the section below.

    Understanding the Badges

Navigating conference badges can sometimes be tricky, especially if you’re not familiar with the organiser’s approach or if you’re having trouble reading names from a distance. To make things simpler, we’re adding this section to help you understand the badge system at SBC Summit and identify key contacts with ease.

Last year in Barcelona, we used colour-coded badges based on zones. This year, after careful consideration, we’ve switched to a system that distinguishes company types by badge colour. This means you can easily spot operators and affiliates by knowing which colours to look out for.

The summit will feature three distinct badge colours:

    • YELLOW: For attending OPERATORS
    • PURPLE: For attending AFFILIATES
    • TEAL: For the remaining delegates, including suppliers, sports teams, leagues, regulators, agencies, and othersWe’ve also enhanced the badge design to ensure:
      • The attendee’s name and surname are more prominently displayed with a larger font for easier recognition
      • The WiFi details (network name and password) are more visible. While these details were included on previous badges, we’ve made them more noticeable based on attendee feedbackOverall, the badge design is much cleaner and will hopefully help you identify the right people without the awkwardness of approaching someone, only to realise they’re not the person you were looking for.

NAVIGATION: REACHING YOUR DAILY STEPS GOAL IS GREAT (BUT SO ARE HAPPY FEET)

Let’s start with the basics – the event has expanded to cover 110,000 square meters of expo space and we’re also expecting a higher footfall with 25,000 attendees, a 66.6% increase from last year’s 15,000.

The Zones Concept & the New Summits

To manage this, we’re sticking with our tried-and-true zones concept, which has been effective in helping attendees navigate the event. Here are the zones you’ll find: Sports Betting, Casino & iGaming, Player Protection, the Media Headquarters and the Startupsphere

The names are pretty self-explanatory, so we won’t delve into details, but each zone will be marked with coloured carpets – red for Casino & iGaming, blue for Sports Betting, and teal for Player Protection.

New this year, we’re enhancing the delegate experience with three dedicated summits. Look out for the Affiliate Leaders Summit (purple zone) with its own entrance, the Payment Expert Summit (green zone), and ESI Lisbon, conveniently located near MEO Arena at Sala Tejo. ESI Lisbon Summit, in collaboration with Esports Insider, dives into esports, video games, and the creator economy.

Each zone has a separate entrance, all conveniently parallel to each other, making them easy to locate. Thankfully, FIL has a straightforward layout, ensuring everything is as simple as possible.

To manage foot traffic and prevent congestion in each zone, we’ve integrated dedicated networking areas like bars, coffee bars, and lounges. This means everyone, even those without a stand, can find a cosy spot for meetings. We’ve ensured there’s plenty of seating because we understand how tiring big events can be.

Pro Tip 1: LED screens will be strategically placed around the venue for attendees to easily locate all featured areas, conference rooms, and events happening in each room. Alongside floor stickers and a printed foldable map available upon badge collection, the agenda and official programme booklets will also be accessible at registration areas before you enter.

Pro Tip 2: While colour-coded zones are helpful, finding a specific exhibitor can still be a challenge. The simplest advice I can offer is to study the floor plan ahead of time. Identify and mark the exhibitors you want to meet and familiarise yourself with the layout of the show floor. Additionally, consider downloading the official event app, SBC Connect Plus (more on this later), which provides a live navigation tool to guide you directly to the exhibitor’s stand.

Pro Tip 3: Curious about the exhibitors? Check out the floor plan here. Eager to know who’ll be attending? Our attendee list is readily available on the website, no need to submit any details or sign up. Take a look at your convenience—no strings attached.

How Are We Going to Manage the Traffic?

First off, the venue is fantastic—all activities will be on a single floor, so you won’t have to worry about navigating multiple levels.

The floor plan, which you can view on the site, is designed to be straightforward. It features multiple entrances and is colour-coded, divided into zones to prevent congestion and ensure attendees are spread out according to their interests.

We’ve strategically placed networking lounges, catering areas, and food festival zones to distribute traffic, minimise lines, and reduce congestion, making the most of your time at the event.

Additionally, we’ve positioned our Super Stage at the MEO Arena, right outside the main venue, which will significantly help manage traffic flow.

Clear signage throughout the venue will guide you efficiently to your destinations, despite the venue’s size.

With all these elements in place, we aim to provide you with a smooth and enjoyable experience, including ample seating areas to relax, a focused expo space tailored to your interests, and easy navigation throughout the event.

Networking Areas on the Expo Floor

Networking is a key reason people attend events like the SBC Summit. We have prioritised creating an environment conducive to networking, whether on or off the exhibition floor, during core event hours, or in the evenings in a more relaxed setting.

It’s crucial that the expo floor, especially one as expansive as this, is designed to facilitate proper face-to-face interactions between attendees and their existing partners or new leads. Exhibitors have the advantage of hosting meetings at their booths, but those without stands need other options. In this section, we’ll explore the various networking opportunities available on the expo floor.

And don’t forget your wristband!

Good to Know: The Thursday night closing party, known as INFINITY, aka the Best Party in Town, promises an unforgettable evening with a stellar lineup of three top DJs. Get ready to dance the night away to the beats of Miss Monique, Darude, and Don Diablo. Trust us, this is one party you won’t want to miss!

                    FOOD FESTIVAL: SAVOUR THE FLAVOUR

Ensuring ample food and drink options for our attendees within the venue was also one of our top priorities. This is why, this year, we’re introducing the ‘Food Festival.’

Here’s what you need to know.

Pre-loaded Wristbands: Full-access pass holders will receive pre-loaded wristbands when they pick up their badges, allowing them to enjoy free meals from the food trucks at the venue. Please note that the funds are (of course) not unlimited, so be mindful and purchase food only for yourself to avoid running out. If your funds do run out, you can still pay with your card at any food truck.

Minimising Queues: To help you avoid long waits, we are adding numerous food tricks throughout the venue. There will be over 50 food trucks scattered across different zones & Summits.

Variety & Dietary Options: The food festival at the summit features a wide variety of options to cater to all tastes and dietary needs. Attendees can enjoy everything from vegan and vegetarian dishes to authentic international cuisines such as Mexican, Thai, and Italian. Gourmet sandwiches, pizzas, and classic street food like hot dogs and burgers are also available. For those with a sweet tooth, there are freshly baked pastries, crepes, and waffles. Additionally, refreshing tropical drinks, freshly brewed coffee, and healthy fruit selections ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the event.

Pro Tip 1:  Study the special map showing the Food Festival areas, eight in total, available at the venue. The map shows the exact locations as well as the type of food you can find in each area (breakfast, healthy options, sandwiches, fast food, pizza, Mexican food and drinks). You can access the map on the website as well as the SBC Connect Plus app.

Pro Tip 2: Looking for a place to sit down and enjoy your meal? Check out these locations where you can relax and dine. They are all situated at the top section of the floor plan.

Pro Tip 3: Make sure to check the screens around the venue for information on queues and waiting times in the food festival areas.

                        CONFERENCE AGENDA: DON’T MISS OUT

Before SBC evolved into a grand exhibition in its own right, our reputation was highlighted through the conference sessions we curated for all our events. Now that we host 600 exhibitors on our show floor, our conference content has only become stronger. In fact, it’s been significantly reinforced with more content, additional conference tracks covering various verticals and profiles, and over 600 expert speakers sharing insights from their careers. With EIGHT (8) stages running simultaneously, the depth and breadth of our conference program have never been greater.

                        Here’s what you can expect:

                        Conference Room 1: Global Leadership
Conference Room 2: Casino & iGaming
                        Conference Room 3: Sports Betting
Conference Room 4: Payment Expert Summit
Conference Room 5: Affiliate Leaders Summit
Conference Room 6: Player Protection Symposium
                        MEO Arena: Super Stage
                        ESI Lisbon Conference

Fun Fact: The MEO Arena, previously known as Altice Arena and Pavilhão Atlântico, is Lisbon’s crown jewel in indoor entertainment. With a sprawling capacity of 20,000, it’s the largest arena in Portugal and one of Europe’s grandest. Built in 1998 for Expo ’98, it’s been the go-to venue for everything from thrilling concerts to unforgettable events. Apart from the Super Stage conference content, MEO Arena will host the Thursday night networking event (more on that below).

Do NOT Miss: Don’t miss the keynotes by World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee, legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk, Portuguese former football star Luís Figo, UFC star Merab Dvalishvili, Danish former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel (MEO Arena).

Pro Tip 1: Yes, we understand that you can’t be in multiple places at once. Don’t worry if you can’t attend all the conference sessions. Full access pass holders will be able to view the conference content after the event through the SBC Connect App (not to be confused with SBC Connect Plus). Event attendees will receive an email approximately 10 days to two weeks after the event with the relevant link.

Prop Tip 2: Familiarise yourself with the event agenda in advance and add the sessions you’re interested in into your calendar using the ‘Add to Calendar’ button. You can also do this through the SBC Connect Plus App (details below). This will help you schedule your meetings around the sessions you want to attend and ensure you don’t miss out on any of the content.

Pro Tip 3: Expo-only pass holders are normally unable to access conference content. However, as a special exception, we’re offering Expo Only pass holders the opportunity to experience the conference content, providing a taste of the full SBC event experience.

Good to Know: Be sure to visit our Global Markets Lounge (C202)—an exciting new addition to SBC Summit.

The concept of the lounge is to provide a dedicated networking space, serving as the ideal hub for suppliers, operators, affiliates, regulators, and other stakeholders to exchange market insights, connect with industry peers, and learn from regional experts.

Global markets set to be explored across the core days of the summit include Canada, USA, Brazil, UAE, Italy, Latin America, Philippines, Germany, Africa, UK, India and Portugal.

The format features an opening address from a regional expert followed by 45-minute, market-specific meet-ups to discuss the relevant market, fostering valuable interactions and opportunities for knowledge-sharing.

GOT QUESTIONS THAT NEED ANSWERING? HERE’S HOW TO GET HELP (WITHOUT SUMMONING A GENIE)

Check the Website or App: Many of the questions we receive onsite can be answered by reviewing the event website. We put a lot of effort into ensuring that the website is comprehensive, covering everything from the conference agenda and exhibitors to the event schedule and special features. To avoid last-minute scrambles, we recommend familiarising yourself with this information before the event. You can also access most of this info through the event app.

Use the Materials Distributed at the Event: When you check in at the event, don’t forget to pick up the Official Programme and the Agenda. The Official Programme includes details on all exhibitors (including their stand numbers & contact info), networking lounges, feature areas, sponsors, strategic and media partners, and the official event schedule, including evening networking events. The Agenda provides a detailed breakdown of all conference panels across various stages, including titles, descriptions, locations, and timings.

Utilise the Foldable Event Map: While the app is great for finding exhibitors with its user-friendly features, we also offer a foldable map at the event for those who prefer a more traditional approach. This map includes the show floor plan to help you navigate the venue.

Use the Online Chat on the Website: Don’t forget about our live chat function on the website, managed by our customer success team. If you have questions or need clarification, drop us a message there instead of searching for an SBC team member onsite.

Look for Signage (Physical and Human): For directions, keep an eye out for various forms of signage on the show floor, including floor plans on LED screens, colour-coded carpets, arrows, and info panels about important meetups and conference agendas. Our staff, easily identifiable in branded SBC shirts, are also available to help with directions.

Visit the Registration Desks: SBC representatives are always available at the registration desks (remember, there are 4 registration areas in total – pick the one that is closest to you). If you’re nearby, feel free to stop by and ask any questions you might have.

Head to the SBC Events/SBC Media (C95) or Affiliate Leaders (F705) stands or the Organisers’ Office (FE300): You’ll find SBC team members at these stands who can assist you or direct you to the right person who can help with your query.

Exhibitors – Use the Helpdesk (HD): If you’re an exhibitor and need to address something with the SBC team or venue staff, head to the Exhibitor Helpdesk located between Entrances 1 and 2. They’ll handle your inquiries there.

Speakers – Visit the Speaker Lounges: If you’re a speaker with questions about your panel, the Speaker Lounge is the place to go. You’re likely to find our conference team representatives there. Also, keep an eye on your inbox, as our conference team will have reached out with their contact details before the event, so you can always reach them by phone or WhatsApp.

Pro Tip: If you’re in touch with an SBC representative, ask for their phone number before the event. Many of us include this in our email signatures, making it easier to contact us without having to search. Even though things can get hectic at the event, we keep an eye on our phones and will respond promptly.

Pro Tip 2: The SBC team uses internal group chats during the event. If you can’t find the person you’re looking for, any SBC team member you encounter can pass your details along, and the relevant person will get back to you quickly.

SBC CONNECT (PLUS) – BECAUSE EVEN APPS NEED A SIDEKICK

While the event is where the main networking happens, we want to ensure you have the opportunity to prepare ahead of time, making your experience at FIL stress-free and streamlined before, during, and after the Summit. Our dedicated app, SBC Connect Plus, is the primary tool we recommend for your event preparation. Download it as soon as it becomes available. Think of it as a condensed version of the website with enhanced access, capabilities, and networking features, all in a user-friendly interface for use at the summit.

                        • Increase Your Chances to Get Discovered: Ensure your personal profile is comprehensive and up-to-date by including all relevant data. Add your photo (optional), job title, company, website URL, and a brief description of your expertise and experience. Additionally, you can upload supporting files to provide more depth to your profile. Listing the country you’re based in will further enhance geographically targeted requests, making your profile more effective in connecting with the right opportunities.
                        • Access Exhibitor Info: With 600 exhibitors at the expo, easy access to their information and stand numbers is essential. Our app allows you to browse the full list of exhibitors or search for specific companies. Each listing provides a short description of the company, the markets it operates in, and the locations of its offices or representatives. Want to create a list of potential leads? Simply bookmark exhibitors by clicking the star next to their names, and they’ll be saved to your personal list. Plus, if you click on a company’s stand number, the system will open a floor map to show you their exact location on the 110,000 square meter expo floor. This feature is incredibly helpful for navigating the vast space efficiently.
                        • Discover Sponsor Info: Some sponsors have booths and are included in the “Exhibitors” section, but even if they don’t, you can still find them in the “Sponsors” field on the app. You’ll get all the same details as you do for exhibitors, minus the stand number if they don’t have a booth.
                        • Add Your Favourite Agenda Sessions: With eight stages running simultaneously and a large show floor, planning ahead is crucial. You can access the agenda on the website and add sessions to your calendar, but the app offers a one-stop solution. Browse the agenda, favourite the sessions you don’t want to miss, and get info on timings, locations, and speakers. Click on a session for its description and speaker details. Apply filters to focus on specific content tracks or speakers of interest. If you have conflicting sessions, don’t worry—content will be available on demand a few weeks after the event, so you can catch up on what you missed or rewatch your favourite panels.
                        • Access the Schedule: With so much happening, it’s crucial to check the schedule in advance and add the events you want to attend to your Google Calendar. You’ll find everything from expo floor gatherings to evening networking events in the schedule. Use the “Open Map” feature to easily locate where each event is taking place. This way, you won’t forget what’s on and will receive a reminder beforehand, ensuring you arrive on time. With 25,000 attendees, the capacity of venues follows a first-come, first-served approach.
                        • Use the Interactive Floor Map: Feeling disoriented on the expo floor? Simply input the name of the booth you’re next to and your intended destination. The map will instantly provide you with a clear route, making it effortless to find your way to your next meeting.
                        • Schedule Meetings: The app lets you send messages to potential leads and schedule meetings. These meetings will be held in the SBC Connect Lounges unless otherwise arranged by both parties. It’s a fantastic chance to connect with people outside your usual network.
                        • Business Matchmaking: Based on your profile and those of other SBC Connect Plus users, the app will provide personalised suggestions of people you might want to connect with. To make sure you appear on others’ suggestion lists, it’s crucial to keep your profile updated and reflective of what you’re looking for.
                        • Scan your leads: Collecting business cards is one approach, but is it the most efficient? It often means a lot of admin work after the event. As an exhibitor or sponsor, we recommend scanning a lead’s badge instead after an engaging conversation. The app will automatically assess the lead (is it a ‘hot’ prospect based on your profile?) and help you prioritise them. You can then easily download your list of leads.Read more about SBC Connect Plus here.

Pro Tip 1: Whether you’re an exhibitor or a sponsor, send your SBC Summit-related press releases to [email protected] before the event (cut-off date is 13 September) for additional exposure. These press releases will be uploaded to a special folder shared with our media partners, who may select them for distribution. Event-related PRs will also be featured on the SBC Summit News Page.

Pro Tip 2: We will be hosting press conferences during the event and are accepting submissions from sponsors and exhibitors who have news to share. This is a free-of-charge opportunity. If interested, please email [email protected].

Pro Tip 3: The Media Headquarters will also host media partners exhibiting with a stand, offering you the opportunity to have quality discussions with publications of interest. Here’s the list of exhibiting media: SBC Media, Agimeg, Casino Guru News, EGR, G3, Gambling Insider, Gioco News, GPWA, iGaming AFRIKA, iGaming Future, Inside Asian Gaming, JAMMA, Soloazar, Yogonet.

Pro Tip 4: You can explore the list of media attending the event by checking the event attendee list here.

                          FALL IN LOVE WITH LISBON

As mentioned earlier, this year marks an exciting milestone for our flagship event as we relocate to Lisbon for the first time. To understand why we chose this vibrant city, you can read a detailed blog post by Ellis Davis from our content team.

While adjusting to this change might feel like starting from scratch, given the new and unfamiliar surroundings, it’s also incredibly thrilling to explore a new city and offer our audience the chance to experience its unique charm. Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is renowned for its rich history, stunning architecture, and picturesque coastal views. With its charming neighbourhoods, lively nightlife, and excellent infrastructure, Lisbon promises to enhance your experience at the SBC Summit.

If you plan to extend your stay or arrive early to enjoy the city, here are a few highlights that Lisbon is known for:

                          • Historic Landmarks: such as Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, and São Jorge Castle.
                          • Fado Music: A traditional Portuguese music genre known for its soulful and melancholic tunes.
                          • Tram 28: A vintage tram offering a charming and scenic tour of Lisbon’s historic neighbourhoods.
                          • Pastéis de Nata: Yes, I’m sure you’re going to enjoy the Portuguese custard tarts.
                          • Vibrant Neighborhoods: Explore areas like Alfama, Bairro Alto, and Chiado, which are definitely worth a visit.
                          • Beautiful Viewpoints: Panoramic spots such as Miradouros da Senhora do Monte and Miradouro de Santa Catarina offer stunning views of the city.
                          • Architecture: Enjoy the futuristic designs in the Parque das Nações area, home to the Lisbon Oceanarium and the Vasco da Gama Bridge (just a short 15-minute walk from the venue). For a touch of tradition, admire the azulejos—traditional Portuguese ceramic tiles that adorn many buildings and public spaces throughout the city.
                          • Lisbon’s Nightlife: Experience a vibrant mix of bars, clubs, and live music venues, especially in Bairro Alto.
                          • Beautiful Beaches: Nearby coastal spots like Cascais and Estoril provide sandy shores and clear waters that are easily accessible from Lisbon.
                          • For Football Fans: Visit Estádio do Benfica either independently or join us at the SBC Football Championship as a player or spectator.Read more on the SBC Summit website.

GOT AN IDEA? HELP US OUT—WE’RE COLLECTING FEEDBACK AND NEED YOUR ‘TWO CENTS.’

As an organiser, it’s crucial for us to hear your thoughts on our events—both the positives and, more importantly, the areas where we can improve. What we’re after is long-term success, so we’d rather you tell us where we can do better than hold back to avoid upsetting us.

Post-Event Surveys: For a while now, we’ve been gathering input through post-event surveys sent to various groups (exhibitors, sponsors, operators, affiliates, and attendees). We ask about everything from the conference and expo floor to networking opportunities, speakers, sessions, catering, and more. These responses are thoroughly analysed and discussed internally to address any issues, whether they involve the venue, planning, user experience, content, or the quality of the audience. While it’s a process of trial and error, we’re dedicated to correcting any problems that arise.

On-site feedback: In addition to the post-event surveys, we’re introducing a new way for you to provide feedback on-site. At the SBC Summit, you’ll find QR codes placed around the venue that invite you to share your thoughts. The goal of this survey is to evaluate attendee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement, determine the relevance of session topics and networking opportunities and collect feedback to inform future event enhancements. This is a great opportunity to ensure your feedback is included and to help us improve the event in ways that benefit you. We really appreciate you taking the time to participate.

Ongoing improvement: Moreover, we’ll be working year-round to enhance the experience for all of you. To this end, we’ve established a dedicated Research department led by our Head of Digital Design and Research, Perthenia Thomas. This team will be continuously analysing user trends, marketing innovations, branding, design, website UX, industry trends, and more to ensure we’re always improving and meeting your needs.

There are different options for those who want to attend.

                            • Full-Event Passes: Priced at €600, these passes are available on our website. Currently, you can benefit from our Group Pass discount, where tickets for groups of three or more are available at €400 per person. Full-access pass holders enjoy comprehensive access to the show floor, all conference content, and evening parties (excluding the SBC Awards ceremony, which requires a separate ticket).
                            • Complimentary Full-Event Passes for Affiliates & Operators: Affiliates and operators can apply for a complimentary full-event pass by filling out a form and qualifying. Operators can apply here, while affiliates should use this link. Our team will review your application and get back to you with the result.
                            • Discount Codes: Our sales team offers special discount codes for full-access passes at just €250. These are exclusively available to our exhibitors, sponsors, and clients. If you have an account manager, reach out directly to inquire about obtaining this ticket.

                            • Expo-Only Pass: Available for €95, this pass is ideal for those on a budget or who are only interested in the expo floor and the conference sessions. This pass does not, however, include evening networking parties or food at the event.

                              Shoutout to the Team(s)

The events business is one where hard work, tight deadlines, and stress are part of the deal. But over the past few years, we’ve built a team that’s become a strong foundation of expertise, passion, and motivation to deliver the greatest show in gaming.

So, as you walk through the halls of the Feira Internacional de Lisboa, take a moment to appreciate just how many people and teams were involved in bringing this event to life:

                              • Sales: If you’re exhibiting or sponsoring, you’ve probably worked with our sales team. They’re the ones who help you secure the best spot for your booth and find sponsorship opportunities that align with your brand’s goals.
                              • Relationships: We have a dedicated team assigned to different segments—operators and affiliates. Their mission is to build lasting relationships with you, ensuring you get the most out of your event experience. Operators and affiliates get free entry, but this team is here to make sure the relationship goes beyond that, helping you meet your goals and guiding you in the right direction.
                              • Customer Success: If you’re an exhibitor or sponsor, you’ve been connected with our customer success team. They’re here to guide you through the event, making sure you feel confident and prepared so that you can get the most value from your participation.
                              • Events: This team is the backbone of the operation. Their to-do list is endless—securing venues, coordinating with contractors, arranging catering, booking networking venues, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on-site. They’re the ones making it all happen, day in and day out.
                              • Conference: While the SBC Summit has evolved into a massive exhibition, SBC’s roots are in top-notch conferences, and that’s thanks to this team. We’re growing, but we’re not compromising on quality. This year, they’ve lined up incredible names like Tony Hawk, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Laura Woods, and Luis Figo, just to name a few.
                              • Marketing: With so much happening at the event, it’s easy to miss something, but our marketing team makes sure you’re in the loop. From websites and social media to emails and press releases, they handle all the communication that helps you navigate and make the most of the event.
                              • Editorial & Media: Our editorial and media team loves to dive deeper by interviewing speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and media partners. With these insightful chats, you’ll get to know the companies and personalities attending the event on a whole new level. Plus, it’s packed with valuable info to keep you in the know!
                              • Design & Video: We live in a visual world, and first impressions matter. This team shapes the visual identity of the event, strategises signage placement, and helps your brand stand out in print materials. They also capture key moments on camera and record interviews, bringing the event’s story to life.

All of these teams, and all of these people, are what make SBC Summit possible. It’s a team effort, and we couldn’t do it without them.

                              Final Thoughts
