TRAVEL MADE SIMPLE

GETTING TO AMSTERDAM

Flying into Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is one of Europe’s best-connected hubs, with around 60 airlines flying to more than 300 destinations worldwide.

Better still, RAI Amsterdam is just a short journey from the airport, meaning you can go from arrivals to the venue in around 15 minutes by train, taxi or rideshare.

That level of connectivity is one of the reasons Amsterdam consistently ranks among Europe’s leading destinations for international business events, making it an easy meeting point for attendees travelling from across the globe.

Schiphol to RAI Amsterdam – By Taxi or Rideshare

Prefer door-to-door travel? Private taxis, Uber and Bolt are all available from Schiphol Airport outside the International Arrivals hall.

  • Journey time: Around 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic

  • Estimated cost: Approximately €30–€45

  • Taxi: Use the official taxi rank outside Schiphol Plaza

  • Uber & Bolt: Book through the relevant app and follow directions to the designated pick-up point

Best for: Groups, attendees with lots of luggage, or anyone arriving outside regular public transport hours.

Schiphol to RAI Amsterdam – By Train (Recommended)

Arriving by train

Travelling to Amsterdam from neighbouring countries in Europe? Amsterdam Centraal is connected to major European cities by high-speed and international rail services, making flying far from your only option.

Direct Eurostar services connect Amsterdam with London, Paris and Brussels, while international services provide connections with destinations across Belgium, Germany and beyond.

Typical journey times include:

  • London St Pancras → Amsterdam Centraal: Around 4 hours

  • Paris → Amsterdam Centraal: Around 3 hours 30 minutes

  • Brussels → Amsterdam Centraal: Around 2 hours

Getting from Amsterdam Centraal to RAI Amsterdam is also very easy. Take Metro 52 (Noord/Zuidlijn) from Amsterdam Centraal to Europaplein station, which is located directly outside RAI Amsterdam. The journey takes around 10 minutes. Taxis are also available.

Arriving by Train

For most attendees, the train is the quickest and easiest way to travel from Schiphol to RAI Amsterdam.

Direct trains connect Schiphol Airport with Amsterdam RAI Station, located just a few minutes’ walk from the venue.

  • Journey time: Around 10–15 minutes
  • Changes: None – direct service
  • Tickets: Check in and out using a contactless debit/credit card or mobile device, or purchase an OV-chipkaart (reusable travel card) at any Schiphol station machine. Single journey from Schiphol to RAI Amsterdam: approximately €5–€8.
  • Services: Regular departures throughout the day (roughly every 15 minutes)

Our recommendation: Take the train. It’s quick, convenient and gets you almost directly to the venue.

Driving to Amsterdam

Coming from Belgium, Germany or elsewhere nearby? Driving can be a convenient option, with extensive parking available directly at RAI Amsterdam.

RAI is located close to Amsterdam’s A10 ring road, making the venue easily accessible without needing to drive through the city centre.

We recommend leaving your car at your hotel or designated parking facility and using Amsterdam’s public transport network during your stay. The city’s metro, tram, train and bus network makes getting around easy and saves you from navigating central Amsterdam by car.

Tram Line 4 is particularly useful for attendees, connecting the RAI area with De Pijp and the city centre, including stops around Rembrandtplein. The wider tram network also provides easy connections towards Leidseplein and the Museum Quarter.

For shorter journeys around central Amsterdam, the tram is often one of the easiest ways to get from A to B.

Amsterdam is made for exploring. Its compact centre means many hotels, restaurants, bars and attractions are within easy walking distance of one another.Cycling is another option, with bike rental available throughout the city.
