SBC Summit is CPD certified. Here’s What That Means For You!

SBC Summit CPD certification gives delegates a recognised way to record the learning they complete in Lisbon.

A meeting with a potential partner. A speaker you’ve wanted to hear. A session that tackles the exact problem your team has been wrestling with.

There are plenty of reasons to come to Lisbon. Here’s another worth knowing before you book: the conference programmes at SBC Summit and Affiliate Leaders Summit are officially CPD certified.

That gives you confidence that our content has been independently assessed for its educational value, can contribute to your professional development record, and may even help you secure funding for your ticket through your employer’s training budget.

But what does CPD actually mean, and how can you make use of it?

First, what CPD actually is

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It covers the learning you do throughout your career to build your skills and keep your knowledge current, whether through courses, independent study or conference sessions.

The CPD Certification Service is the independent organisation that assesses learning activities against its professional development standards. It has accredited the conference programmes at SBC Summit and Affiliate Leaders Summit.

For you, that means the content has been independently reviewed for its educational value. Whether you’re trying to understand AI, explore the regulations of a new market or improve customer acquisition, you can make time for our conference sessions knowing they form part of an assessed learning programme.

Which Sessions Count? You Have Plenty of Choice.

Every conference session, academy and masterclass across both events contributes towards CPD.

At SBC Summit, that covers all six conference stages, from headline conversations on the Super Stage to specialist discussions on global and emerging markets, technology, payments, regulation and product innovation.

At Affiliate Leaders Summit, it includes the event’s two dedicated conference stages, covering the challenges behind building audiences, winning customers and growing an affiliate business.

The optional Education+ upgrade for €249 offers further CPD-accredited learning through our hands-on Tech Academies and masterclasses. These offer interactive learning experience, and include:

Tech Academies

Masterclasses

Our Education+ upgrade offers you access to one academy at a time, so be sure to prioritise accordingly (Masterclasses are included with your Tech Academy add-ons or your Conference, Business or VIP Passes) .

Before You Book, Ask About the Training Budget

Your ticket could fall within your employer’s learning and development budget.

That depends on company policy, but it’s worth checking before assuming the cost needs to come from travel or events spending. Your employer doesn’t need to be a member of The CPD Certification Service to support your attendance.

Give your manager something specific to consider: the sessions you want to attend, the questions you want answered and how the learning could help your team.

For example: “We’ve been discussing how to use AI in our campaigns. I’d like to attend these sessions, compare the approaches being shared and bring back recommendations for us to explore. The content is CPD certified. Could we fund the ticket through our training budget?”

Have the agenda and costs ready, and ask what approval or evidence is needed.

Certification can support the request. Showing why the learning matters to your business makes the case stronger.

What Can You Do With Your Certificate?

Keep it alongside your professional development record, with a note of the sessions you attended and what you learned.

If your employer supported your trip, share it with your manager alongside the ideas you plan to bring into your work. Where you have formal CPD requirements, submit it through your employer’s or professional body’s usual process, subject to their acceptance criteria.

You could also share your certificate on LinkedIn with a few specific takeaways. Explain what challenged your thinking, what you found useful and what you want to explore next. That gives your network something more interesting than an attendance announcement.

How to Get Your CPD Certificate

After the summit, we’ll submit your attendance details for the CPD-accredited sessions you completed to The CPD Certification Service.

We’ll use session attendance data collected during the summit to identify the CPD-accredited sessions you attended and calculate the corresponding CPD hours.

Once your attendance has been processed, you’ll receive an email with a unique link to the myCPD Portal, where you can access and download your personalised CPD certificate. Please make sure you use the same email address you provided when registering for the event.

Certificates may take up to 28 days to be issued following submission.

Your certificate provides a recognised record of the CPD learning you completed and can be added to your professional development record, shared with your manager or HR team, or used to support relevant CPD requirements.
