How to Prepare for SBC Summit: 9 Things to Do Before You Arrive

How to Prepare for SBC Summit: 9 Things to Do Before You Arrive

The most valuable conversations at SBC Summit don’t start when the exhibition opens. They start weeks earlier.

By the time thousands of industry professionals arrive in Lisbon, many attendees already have full meeting diaries, personalised conference agendas and a clear plan for every day of the event.

The difference isn’t luck. It’s preparation.

From booking meetings through SBC Connect and planning your conference schedule to checking your ticket includes everything you want to experience, a little planning before you travel can completely change the value you get from your week.

Here’s how the most prepared attendees are getting ready for SBC Summit.

Download the SBC Connect App

If there is one thing any attendee should do before SBC Summit, it’s to download the SBC Connect app.

More than a simple event app, it centralises your entire event experience on one platform. Once you’ve created your profile, you can view the event schedule, explore the floor plan, register for networking events, scope out exhibiting companies and registered attendees, and schedule meetings with potential partners weeks in advance.

It essentially works as your personal event headquarters, and the earlier you start using SBC Connect, the more opportunities you’ll have to build your diary before arriving in Lisbon.

Start Booking Meetings Before Anyone Else

Waiting until you arrive in Lisbon to start networking is one of the biggest mistakes attendees make.

By the time the exhibition opens, many delegates already have calendars full of meetings. Rather than relying on chance encounters on the show floor, they’re arriving with conversations already lined up.

Powered by the SBC Connect app, SBC Connect Meets allows eligible attendees to search for registered delegates, filter by company type and industry sector, and send meeting requests weeks before the event. Meetings then take place in the dedicated SBC Connect Lounge (CR1), giving you a structured environment to continue conversations.

VIP, Business and Networking Pass holders receive advanced access to SBC Connect, meaning they can send and receive meeting requests. Expo and Conference Pass holders will receive basic access to the event, meaning you can only receive meeting requests.

Preparing for SBC Summit through SBC Connect
  • Open the SBC Connect App
  • Go to the Attendees tab
  • Browse the full attendee list or use the search function
  • Open the attendee profile and either start a chat or request a meeting

The earlier you start reaching out, the greater your chances of arriving in Lisbon with a diary full of valuable conversations already confirmed.

Register for structured networking experiences

SBC Summit’s structured daytime networking programme offers dedicated opportunities to meet the people, companies and markets most relevant to your business.

But leaving it to the day to decide to register could lead to some serious missed opportunities, which is why it’s crucial to register weeks in advance to secure your spot.

New structured networking elements include:

  • Speed Networking offers fast-paced sessions where you can meet dozens of relevant contacts in a short period of time.
  • Show Floor Tours guide attendees around exhibitors grouped by themes such as AI in Gaming, Casino and Sports Betting, making it easier to discover companies aligned with your interests.
  • Regulatory Gaming Meetups bring together professionals focused on specific markets and regions, creating opportunities to connect with regulators, legal experts and market specialists.
  • Smart Connect delivers curated one-to-one meetings between buyers and sellers based on commercial priorities, product fit and market focus.

Operators wishing to take part in Smart Connect can register here, whilst suppliers can get in touch with our sales team here. All other networking experiences can be browsed and booked directly through the ‘More’ section of SBC Connect, or via the SBC Summit website

Access to the structured networking programme is included with VIP, Business and Networking passes. If your current ticket doesn’t provide access, you can upgrade your pass on the SBC Summit website.

Build your personalised conference agenda

With more than 600 speakers across 13 conference tracks and six stages, SBC Summit’s CPD-certified conference programme covers every corner of the global and betting industry.

It also means if you leave choosing which sessions to attend until you’re at the event, you’re almost guaranteed to miss something valuable.

Before travelling to Lisbon, take a few minutes to browse the conference agenda in SBC Connect and save the sessions most relevant to your interests. Not only will this ensure you don’t miss the sessions most relevant to you, but it also creates natural windows for you to plan meetings and explore the exhibition.

  • Just head to the Agenda’ tab and add your desired panel to your favourites.
  • Click on the ‘My Event’ tab on mobile (located on the home screen on desktop)
  • View your personalised schedule

Registered for a networking experience? You can add those to your schedule too! Just head to the event’s schedule and favourite the networking event you have registered for!

Ensure Your Ticket Matches Your Priorities

Every attendee comes to SBC Summit with different goals. Some are here to learn, others to network. That’s why SBC Summit offers a range of ticket options, each catering to different attendee needs.

Rather than discovering you’re unable to access a conference session, networking event or headline experience on the day, it’s worth checking your ticket before you arrive and upgrading if needed.

  • Expo Pass: Access to the SBC Summit show floor only
  • Conference Pass: Access to the conference and show floor only
  • Networking Pass: Access to the show floor structured daytime networking and the Opening and INFINITY Lisbon party.

Do You Need to Upgrade Your Ticket?

The last thing you want is to arrive in Lisbon only to realise your ticket doesn’t include one of the experiences you were most looking forward to.

Whether it’s seeing Michael Jordan on the Super Stage, celebrating at the INFINITY Lisbon closing party or gaining hands-on learning through Education+, reviewing your upgrade options before you travel ensures you won’t miss out.

Available upgrades include:

Party Pass (€149): If you’re attending on an Expo or Conference Pass, the Party Pass gives you access to INFINITY Lisbon at the MEO Arena. Featuring complimentary drinks and performances from Tiësto, Blasterjaxx and Marc Vedo, it’s one of the industry’s biggest networking celebrations and the perfect way to round off the week.

Super Stage Pass (€199): Gain access to SBC Summit’s biggest keynote sessions, including the Super CEO Panel, UFC fighter Charles Oliveira and the headline conversation, Leadership in Sports Business, featuring Basketball legend Michael Jordan, Carsten Koerl (Founder and CEO, Sportradar) and Jason Robins (Co-Founder and CEO, DraftKings).

Super Stage Golden Circle Pass (€499): For those wanting the best seats in the house, the Golden Circle Pass provides priority seating at the Super Stage, alongside access to INFINITY Lisbon.

If any of these experiences are part of your plans, it’s worth securing your upgrade before arriving in Lisbon to ensure you never miss a key moment.

Familiarise Yourself with the Venue

With so much happening across SBC Summit, taking a few minutes to explore the venue before you arrive can make a huge difference once you’re on site.

Rather than spending valuable time searching for lunch, a networking space or the right exhibition hall, you’ll already know exactly where you’re heading.

This year, the event includes:

  • Food Festival: Six dedicated food festival areas featuring more than 50 food trucks.
  • Festival Square: The social hub of the event, hosting networking, entertainment and hospitality throughout the week.
  • Networking Lounges: Dedicated spaces for informal meetings and catching up between sessions.
  • Media Hub: The place to connect with industry media, arrange interviews and follow the latest announcements.
  • Show Floor Zones: Plan your route through dedicated areas including Casino & iGaming, Sports Betting, Payment Expert Summit, Player Protection and the Startup Hub.

Knowing where these features are before you arrive will help you navigate the venue more efficiently, avoid missing key experiences and make better use of your time between meetings and conference sessions.

Familiarise yourself by looking at the floor plan here or via the SBC Connect app.

Beat the Queues with Pre-Registration

No one wants to start SBC Summit by standing in a registration queue.

Fortunately, you don’t have to.

If you’re flying into Lisbon, you can collect your badge at the airport shortly after landing, allowing you to head straight into the event when the doors open. Alternatively, you can collect your badge at FIL during Monday’s pre-registration period, avoiding the busiest times on the opening morning.

Before travelling, take a moment to check the registration opening hours and decide which collection point works best for your itinerary.

  • Registration 1, located next to the main FIL entrance, serves as the primary registration point with the highest number of scanners and support desks.

A Little Preparation Goes a Long Way

SBC Summit is designed to help you discover new opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and stay ahead of the industry’s biggest developments.

But the attendees who get the greatest value aren’t necessarily the ones who work the hardest once they arrive. They’re the ones who arrive with a plan.

With your meetings booked, schedule built, ticket checked and SBC Connect ready to guide you through the week, you’ll be free to focus on what really matters: making connections, discovering new ideas and getting the most out of every moment in Lisbon.
